Why is that strange? They toured together in 96, and Hammett was a big Soundgarden fan from the beginning.

Strange that they played 2 of their owns songs? That part of the show felt really long. James coming out to goof off with Jack Black on 'One' was pretty cool though
    “Do not postpone happiness”

“Put yer good money on the sunrise”

Yeah fair point, doesn't help that Master of Puppets is so fucking long!

The very end with Kim and Ben was by far the most emotional moment of the night for me. It was dark and mournful and angry and perfect. I shed a couple of tears.

I’m not a fan of Adam Levine at all but I thought he did a really good job on 'Seasons' with Stone

Dave Grohl was pretty emotional during Everlong

I was thinking about the songs they played, and what they commented on stage.

    What did they comment?

Weird of any bands to play their own songs.. if the songs do not in some way can be linked to Chris.

What has Master of Puppets to do with anything...

"Master of Puppets" is about drug addiction and "For Whom the Bell Tolls" has that line "take a look to the sky just before you die... it's the last time you will". I think that's what @lowenan meant by a weird choice of songs to play. Didn't hear anything wrong with their comments though.

totally agree, felt the same about the Melvin's opening, I got really concerned for the fans there that it was gonna be like a mini show for everyone playing with like one Chris song. But Metallica commented about how their first album was better I think it was supposed to be tongue in cheek about how you hear that about their music, "I think we liked the first album, nothing bad about the others but the first was really good", then they went into Head Injury at the wrong tempo, which seemed like a tasteless pick IMO

  • No Eddie Vedder on the setlist?.
Wonder if it is becouse he could not make it through or if he is against this hole thing from happening...

According to this I'm a little off with who plays what but I swear Melvins only did 3 tunes... nonetheless this is super thorough so enjoy

'Miley Cyrus' and 'Say Hello 2 Heaven' are two things I never thought I'd see together in the same sentence. Wonder how it came about?
