When I got that bunch of people singing over Jeremy, it said it was Metallica.

There's stuff on there like Pearl Jam, Creed and RHCP singing Arms Wide Open. I didn't download it, but it sounds fake.
This puke stinks like beer, and everybody's here, so come on come on come on, let's lay waste to this Century...

yeah that's it! now i just want to know who's singing it, because it's such a beautiful song!

Downface. They wrote it. i think.
  • The band you guy's are thinking of are MAD SEASON, A side project around 95 feat Layne Staley ( singer of aic) Mike mcready and drummer, bassist of the screaming trees. The project was a huge attempt to get Layne off heroine and into music but it didn't work. However the album Mad Season's 'Above' is still one of my favourite albums and it has other songs like 'wake up' and 'river of deceipt' it's very good check it out!

There are way too many fakes out on file-sharing systems for us to get excited about anything like this. If it's "new" then it'd be in the news of the main site.

A good way of telling is checking

    http://www.pjvault.com/covers.html

which lists all the songs and dates played...

    Alone isn't there. Sorry.

unfuckingbelievable,it sure sounds like eddies voice along with layne staley ?that one i wasnt sure on,but it sounds like layne in the early 90s kinda

  • It is downface like some people have said. This is straight from their website http://www.downface.com

The mp3s are back up for the Confidence album. For all the people downloading our music off the music sharing websites. We are NOT members of Tool and Creed or any other band. So if you download our song called Alone or any other song off the Confidence or Within albums, they were written and performed by DOWNFACE. Thanks for all the emails and for supporting us! Russ, Joe, Rob, and Tim

lol Creed and Tool, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains and maybe some other bands. The boys must feel flattered (maybe not the creed part ;)) and obviously have some skill.
  • The song is not Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains. All Alone is a song written by a group calling themselves Mad Season. The album is titled Above. Mike McCready happens to be in this band w/ Layne Staley the lead singer of Alice In Chains (this was the last thing he worked on before his death.) The other members of the band are from the Screaming Trees. All Alone is my favorite track of it but the album is really good. I suggest you pick it up if you can.

    If you go to... http://www.giventowail.com/
you can find out alot more information...this site also has all the tabs to every song Mike McCready has ever played live or in a studio....All in all good stuff...I hope this helped....

It's been said once, but here it is again . . . DOWNFACE.COM

    Alone
    written by Tim Anderson

    It's been a long day
At the bottom of the hill
They say she died of a broken heart
She told me I was living in the past
    Drinking from a broken glass

    I'm Alone
Now I turn to face the cold
    I'm Alone
Now I turn to travel home

    I walked down
    to the other end today
Just to catch those last few rays
I held out my hands and slowly waved goodbye
I turn my eyes to the sky

    Chorus

    She'll come back to me

I held out my hands to the light and I watched it die
I know, that I was part to blame
    But I've done my time
and I Never want to spend my life alone

    Not PJ or AIC

Mad Season is McCready's side project. It is made up of Mike McCready, Barrett Martin, John Baker Saunders, and Layne Staley. A few buddies jammin.

It's actually called "all alone" also try a few of their better ones...listen to river of deceit, Artificial red
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key

wow i am surprized too. sounded alot like them. How can they do that? Put up a song and call it another band doing it? ??? Well I guess if its Mike Mccreedy its pj related.... I dont know. I think its a real nice song too.
  • this guy sent it to me saying it was pearl jam and alice in chains because he knew i liked pearl jam. so i listened to it and i knew it didnt sound like them. some points of the song i did but i knew it wasnt pearl jam OR alice in chains. turns out my cousin did some reaserch and we are pretty sure its downface.

It is NOt Pearl Jam, NOt Alice IN Chains, NOT MAD SEASON. There is so much BS floating aournd on this tune good lord! here is what some other dude wrote on another site:

This song was recorded and made famous by Eddy Vedder and Jerry Cantrell in response to Layne Stanley's drug over dose. It was originally written by Tim Anderson of Downface. The Eddy Vedder/Jerry Cantrell version has never officially been released. You can find this version and the Downface version floating around on the internet. There is a distinct difference. The Downface version has only one singer, where the EV/JC version has 2 distinct voices.

can this get any more confusing? It is Downface-Alone lets end it there please
  • Alright well heres a link to the song. It wont end the confusion but at least everyone will get to listen to it. Im pretty sure its the version with vedder and cantrell since there are two voices. Enjoy!

    "şu anda dinliyorum.."

    It's mean:
Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam "Alone"

    Yes.. I'm listening now
  • I dont know, the lead singer sounds closer to the guy from Seven Mary Three than EV. Doesnt sound like layne in the bknd either.

    Peace
  • *j cantrell*
  • man..
I've had that song for ages under the name of AIC & Pearl Jam and I always knew it was bs! come on, there's no eddie nor layne nor cantrell in there! open your ears by the love of god!

if it's by a band called downface, cool cuz now I can put it right! it's still a really cool song.

its definitely a hoax. Anyone who's ever heard eddie or layne sing would surely realise that the person singing on that track is neither eddie nor layne!

Yeah, thats where I got it from. I didn't think it sounded like either of them though, and later found out it is by a band called DOWNFACE. It's a cool song, but its not Pearl Jam or AIC.

Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam never played this song. The band playing this song that everyone thinks is Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam is a band called Downface. The song is even featured on their Myspace page: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=59855186

    Oh for chrissakes...not again!

Once more: THERE IS NO SLOW ACOUSTIC SONG CALLED "ALONE" FEATURING ANY MEMBER OF PEARL JAM OR ALICE IN CHAINS.

There is a song on filesharing networks called "Alone" which is supposedly performed by AIC/PJ or some members thereof BUT IT IS A MISLABEL OF A DOWNFACE SONG!

Eddie and Jerry Cantrell have NEVER EVER performed this song, it's a myth. No matter how many versions you've heard, one voice or two, IT'S NOT THEM.

    Okay?...
