Pointless covers

I am with you.  I fail to understand these types of threads.
Maybe you should try reading the first post in them then.

I did.  Perhaps try not to be so sensitive.  I was nice about it.

There are two pointless covers I can't stand:

    Disturbed: Sound of Silence

    Bad Wolves: Zombie
That songs drives me crazy! Every time it comes on the radio my whole family knows I hate it.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Coming in only to say the thread is pointless is not nice. Now give me a hug.

Pearl Jam should have do their cover more like this :O Man this is g-g--g-gg-g-g-g-g-g-g-g--great.

That was extremely enjoyable - thanks for posting. Not a pointless one.

I'm a fan of covers; it shows the love and respect a band has for another. Normally the cover is not as good as the original, but they are fun to hear.

Here's a band that I recently started listening to doing a 4 way cover. May be pointless to some but I enjoy it - aside from liking their own original music.

Twiddle covering - Glycerin (Bush)/No Woman No Cry (Marley)/ Wagon Wheel (Old Crow Medicine Show)/Farmhouse(Phish) - all mashed up together - enjoy,....

I think the first time at the Vic is the best one out of the three times theY have covered it. Wish theY would trY it with Eddie singing. But I ¨dothink it fits the thread.

I'm assuming that it was more interesting to shit on Kiss than to even recognize the band I posted. Not unexpected.

Huh?  I didn’t like the song plain and simple. I could care less if it was a kiss song. It was a pretty crappy cover.

Sometimes posting can be as pointless as the cover songs. Sorry for the crap, whatever it was.

I like a lot of covers, especially if it’s a band/singer that I’m already a fan of covering a song I don’t know. It’s a good way to get introduced to new music.

As for “pointless covers” - every time there’s a tv ‘talent’ show (The Voice, Idol, anything with Simon Cowell involved) they always rattle out the same old covers. Do we need any more tv winners doing Sinatra/easy listening covers that have been done a thousand times already? I worked in a music store for years and that shit used to sell by the truckload. It used to annoy the hell out of me to have to reorder stock.

  • I think that was great!  (On the unintentional comedy scale.  Does the singer have a disability or something?  I feel badly about laughing that much at him, if so.)

No one has told him that he can't hit those notes apparently?

WTF?!?!  Is he taking a hard shit while singing that.  Horrible...just horrible.

I play covers here & there in my live shows....If I'm practicing & I can't hit the right notes, I first try changing the key. If it still sounds like crap, I don't continue. That was painful to watch & listen to. Wow.
    I LOVE MUSIC.

Never understood how Puddle of Mud survived their very first your, that guy can't even sing his own songs live.
I was in highschool and half-liked their debut album, then I saw a clip of them live and the guy wasn't even close to hitting the notes in his own hit single.  Nerp.  No thanks.
Here we are, like 15 years later, and Puddle of Mud is still a thing?

    Disturbed doing Sound of Silence.

That is a steaming turd, and so it makes sense that all the Five Finger Death Punch types thought it was great lol

Actually, maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's awesome...I couldn't make it past that phoney hollow voice he opens with.  Just horrible.
