Made for a helluva fun show, though. Really disappointed in how late they went on and the cutting of songs, but the show felt long with a rather eclectic setlist and Ed’s antics and dancing. They really looked like they were having fun all night and especially with laughing at Ed towards the end.
A couple tiny missteps but not sure if that was them or the mix. Otherwise sounded and felt great from A2 ADA. Even saw Mark Zupan there.
Think Tuesday will be the long show with another even crazier setlist. Last night of the tour at a place they love to play. I’m sure now that they came out so late tonight that everyone will piss and moan and not show up as early on Tuesday. Screw that though, I’m not taking my chances and plan to be in my seat early again.
Great night.... it wasn’t a top 5, but it was an awesome night.
The setlist had some nice surprises, this was my first time hearing Sometimes as an opener... Army Reserve was also fantastic. Tremor Christ was a real treat, I heard them play that live once before, 20 years ago almost to the day. What a great performance of it tonight. I was blown away. Mike McCready is a bad bad man... I consider it a great privilege to see him perform live.
It was a fun fun first night. I’m looking forward to night 2.
Deep breath everybody. 50 something shows- I've seen my fair share. Just saw the two at Wrigley, and yea the boys have been mixing it up. The band likes Boston because its like their home away from home. Seattle is tough to play... EVERYBODY expects Godliness, Chicago is his home town so maybe some amped up- gotta make this a good one. Then Boston. Not NYC east coast bright lights, but the people who originally made the fight for freedom (wiki Bunker Hill). I'm from Ny, but went to Schoo here. Im a bit puzzled that it wasn't a 730 start, but hey. They played their hearts out. Buffalo Tom was so cool. I stared at Army Reserve bc I knew ppl would be asking about it. I didd the same from Tremor, Out of My Mind, and earlier Amongst the Waves (been a while). Petty salute tn may have topped Wrigley, but whose counting? Not them. And thats why, maybe this their way of getting in that its 2.5 hours. Take it! No one can beat this. Out of my Mind was so unreal. And tremor- I did not expect that at all-complete shock. Any questions ask!
#31 for me I believe. Solid, solid show. I was in b5, good folks, having great time. I personally didn’t do much singalong as wanted to hear Ed’s voice not mine
#31 for me I believe. Solid, solid show. I was in b5, good folks, having great time. I personally didn’t do much singalong as wanted to hear Ed’s voice not mine
so happy to hear out of my mind and tremor vs say again today and cnumb.
Also, did Matt change something with his kit? He sounded great! The thumping in
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
One other note. Some of you are crazy and/or troopers with the merch. Lines everywhere. I ran out during army reserve to reload drink and there was nobody in line and I was able to score T-shirt’s, flag, button
Great time and crowd in my section - B99 - was really great. Enjoyed just looking around and seeing how much everyone was into it!
Army Reserve was so awesome and the main set really had a great flow to it. Sound was very nice but I can see the people saying the guitars were a little low in the mix.
Pretty good show for, you know, not being in Philly.

Eddie had me in tears with Sometimes and Release to start out. The sound was great in C3 and I sat next to a kick ass couple from Canada who really made my night a whole lot better! Love Pearl Jam fans! So great to hear an entire stadium behind me singing back at Eddie and the boys. Mike shredded as usual and pretty much melted my face off! I think the first encore was the best I’ve heard. Can’t wait for the screening tonight then night 2!!

It is so true that a big part of the experience are the fans immediately around you....10c section in Box 7 was awesome. Sometimes was a great opener...hadn’t seen it since Mansfield acoustic set. Loved the slow intro to Patriot. One of the better performances of Daughter in the shows I’ve seen....It’s Ok is the ultimate tag. As others mentioned...first encore was sick. Present Tense just seems to solidify any setlist. PT, Once, SOLAT, Tremor Christ dominated Out of My Mind? No reason they can’t dust off Dirty Frank on Tuesday.
Still hope we get No Way for the first time in their 33rd MA show.
Absolutely amazing show. Can’t ask for a better setlist than that. Just wish they had come on a little earlier, given that they had to scratch a number of songs.
This was my 39th show. That was the best 2nd set I've ever seen. The emotion in Won't Back Down through Present Tense was indescribable. And then SoLaT, A PERFECT TREMOR CHRIST, into Black, 3 of my favorite songs and only the second time I've heard tremor christ. That stretch right there was just incredible. Incredible.
Walking around town this morning and of all the great songs played it’s Army Reserve that’s stuck in my head. I met two vets yesterday and had great conversations with both. They shared touching and difficult experience both while serving and after returning home. When the boys play these tribute songs to the military you can feel how sincerely they play. How rare is it to have a band that rocks so hard and loves so much? It really heightens my sense of appreciation for the soldiers AND their families. Especially the spouses. Much love to all you PJ fans who have and continue to sacrifice for us...

Thoughts -opening was cool, the place was ready to explode after Corduroy and Ed did the fuck monologue and killed the flow. it seemed even the band was ready for him to wrap that up.
-this was show 40 something for me and the first encore was one of the best sets I’ve seen them play.
-outta my mind, I don’t get the love for it. wish they had played something else. unfortunately there were a couple of crowd killer moments tonight that puzzled me.
-highlights were the first encore, patriot, army reserve, amongst the waves
Had a great time. Got my white whale of Army Reserve! Didn't expect Tremor Christ that late in the set either. Nice surprise. Overall solid show. Little greatest hitsy for my taste. Energy seemed to suck out of the stadium near the end of the main set and they had a hard time getting it back. Was sort of a weird vibe...

Haha yes I thought that too. They seemed to get a kick out of it.
Holy shit what a show. Thanks to PJ and crew for bringing it yet again.
Tremor Christ was my white whale and they totally CRUSHED it. Jeff’s bass part in the song is one of my favorites and he nailed it. Remarkable.
Totally agree with what everybody else said about the set list so I won’t repeat that. Easily A top 3 show for me (out of 28).
Was in section A4, row 16 (second from end on Mike’s side) and, generally speaking, it did feel that the 10 rows ahead of me were dead. Not a lot of movement. Very strange but oh well.
Also wanted to say that the new lighting looks great. Anybody know which artist made the metal pieces? They look metal anyway.

I’m speechless . Anyone complaining about that should not go anymore. Too many highlights to name but was that the best version of daughter ever? And rushed for curfew they leave Outta my Mind and scratch BM instead! That shows the vibes the band were getting from an awesome crowd who was up for anything. I honestly don’t know how they’ll match or top this in Tues. fir me this was way better than N1 in 2016. Only complaint, yes, why come out at 8? All the emails and warnings about a 6:30 start. I never expected that but I did expect a 730 start. But whatever! And I finally got tremor Christ!! Which sounded great. And best first encore I’ve ever seen.
I thought overall it was an excellent show, though the main set I’d say was just average. Army Reserve was a big highlight. The entire encores, particularly the first half, were absolutely tremendous. The last show I saw was Prague, which I thought was one of the best shows I’ve seen them play this decade. This wasn’t that but they can’t all be the best and I think everyone walked out happy last night.
I do hope they get the start time sorted out. It looked to me like they were going on shortly after 7:15, the photographers were brought out into the well and the dry ice started. Not sure what caused the delay but it was a very long time to go on 85 minutes past the ticket time. Nice to have seats back on the floor. 10C member since 1994 and nobody does it better than them.
B6 last night, a bit further back than typical. Different Boston vibe for sure. Everyone
around us from NY, Toronto or Philly. Fun, Cool people who knew the band
well. A lot of 20+ year 10c members.. Any EV reference to the Red Sox was met with a Tepid crowd response. This was the most ten club heavy show I’ve
been to.
The delayed start was strange, most everyone in seats at 630
and they walk on at 8.
Opening with Sometimes then into Release was a surprise.
Great Intro!.
Mike wearing a vintage Aerosmith “Rocks” concert shirt was
cool.
I loved Army Reserve, have not had that one in a long time. It
did seem to Not register with the crowd for whatever reason. I have always
loved that tune, underrated.
Superb show. EV voice sounded amazing, he seemed strong and well
rested. The 5 songs after the 1st
encore were my highlight. Present Tense,
Once, SOLAT, Tremor Christ and Black. Wow, that was fuckin’ unreal.
That Buffalo Tom cover was the shit, locals remember that
band well from the ‘80’s bar scene in greater boston. That was a fun tune and
Bill J. was having a blast. I thought it was done incredibly well done and a touch of old school Boston for sure.
Most all of the songs sounded incredibly tight, my observation
is it is more about Quality than Quantity with the band now. Shows with 35+
songs may be over. I’m totally fine with it.
After waking up this morning and reading some posts on Facebook and here saying the show was not "good" I really needed to take a step back and wonder am I a Pearl Jam fanboy that thinks they can do no wrong? I know how I felt last night during the show and nothing would change that but I broke down the set and am still blown away by it. Sometimes,Release (amazing version with great crowd support),Low Light(Eddie held that last note forever), Small Town, Corduroy was a phenomenal opening segment and one of the best I have heard. Army Reserve, Amongst the Waves, It's Ok (Still waiting for a crowd to do this tag justice), slow fast Patriot was polished and great. Much better than Chicago's.
I Won't Back Down had amazing crowd interaction. That second time through on the sing along was LOUD. Present Tense in the first encore was great, Tremor Christ out of nowhere. The first encore was the highlight of the show even with JB in there. Taillights > Draw the Line by a country mile too.
Out of My Mind. Wanted this song for ever and never thought I would ever hear it. One of the most amazing concert moments of my life. I get people do not like this song and don't get it but it just clicks with me and it has nothing to do with its rarity. Also only 4 covers played which is a step up from 2016.
Would I have liked them to come on earlier. Yes Would I have liked more songs. Yes Was it a great show. Yes
I noticed Jeff’s bass a ton tonight from my seats in grandstand 26. Army Reserve was a huge highlight. I have posted before that I missed the first half of Philly IV 2009 and Out of My Mind. Never thought I would hear it live (and I have loved the song since I bought the Not For You single back in 1995). Feel so fortunate as far as a PJ fan goes and now can look back on Philly IV without any regret..
The crowd around us in Grandstand 26 was really fun. Everyone stood and sang along.
Ed was very chatty early on and I liked how the later part of the show they just ripped off song after song with no delay. I don’t mind the talking and get they need breaks but sometimes it hurts the flow of the show IMHO.
Never heard of Buffalo Tom but I have that song stuck in my head. Great live tune. Time to board.
I don't usually comment but all the negativity people! Over two and a half hours from the greatest rock band in the world with treats like Tremor Christ, Army Reserve, Amongst the Waves and Blood on a beautiful night AT FENWAY. I love that Ed is old enough that he's repeating his stories. Consider the alternative people. Boston should get rid of the stupid curfew when a band and its fans are giving the city millions of dollars. Fenway should allow a GA like every other venue. The GA ppl help set the tone. PJ should please just jeep doing what they're doing. 4th show in 4 weeks. Loved them all.
I ate Sour Patch Kids and drank water with my babygirl at her first concert. And it was just awesome. Even when the flow was a little off during the main set, we had a great time.
And she, for one, as an eight-year-old, will never forget Eddie’s “fuck” speech. He pretty much became her favorite person in the world, and now she wants to marry him.
Switched seats with my wife for the encores and rocked out the rest of the show with my bestie. What a great night!

And she, for one, as an eight-year-old, will never forget Eddie’s “fuck” speech. He pretty much became her favorite person in the world, and now she wants to marry him.
Switched seats with my wife for the encores and rocked out the rest of the show with my bestie. What a great night!
