    Woohoo. Got One
Electronic high five.  Scored my first variant!  My son wanted got this one for his room to commemorate the show.  I'll keep the variant in our downstairs with all the other posters and he can put the regular on in his room.
To be honest, I didnt even see the variant till after I purchased the regular edition, but I dont really care. Its a cool poster. Thanks

Actually, Faile is two guys, Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller. One signs it Faile, and one signs it 1986.

Thomas AP pricing for tonight. $125 reg. $175 variant plus shipping.
Damn that’s pricey. Maybe it will deter the flippers a bit.

I really hope he's learned how to properly pack and ship prints since Fenway '16.  That was a nightmare.

Got it, thanks. That one went right over the head. To bad Faile's pricing will be very high. What were the variants in 16, $250 or $300?

I'm all for the artists bumping prices on the APs and variants. If people are willing to pay it, I'd rather see them get the money for their work.

I would agree with that.  However, I would prefer they drop standard s/n poster sales and only s/n variants but then increase overall number sold.  Say a print run of 250 or 300.

Interesting idea, although I wonder if there is a level of attachment to the standard s/n since that is their original vision/design.

I'm all for the artist making their fair share. But, if people are willing to pay upwards of $200 for a Thomas SE. Then, the flippers will just make that much more money off both versions of the AP's as well, sadly.

In some cases yes, in many cases no. There's a market value for all of these things and the original sale price is barely a factor.

I could be wrong but I don't think the artists get to determine how many prints they can sell.  I think that is part of the agreement when they are chosen to make a print for a show.

I think that is correct.  This year appears to be 300 s/n and 100 variants.  I was simply saying you had the chance to get the regular at the show.  Personally for me, I would prefer the variants and thus would rather have the variant print run be higher.  The artists aren't allowed to do more.  Was just more an interesting idea.  For example, the Emek Seattle variant is amazing.  Just wish there was more access.

That's correct.  It is predetermined and in many cases is how the artist is payed for their work.

I know what you mean, some of the variants look amazing and it's unfortunate that so few are available.
