Brian , This clash of environmentalists and loggers, fisherman etc....Are people totally against logging? Are they totally against commercial fishing? Do you see a way that both sides can be happy and coexist?

Totally against logging, pretty much. Lumber has it's uses and there are plenty of ecosystems that can support a timber industry, but the uses and appropriate regions are probably only 10% of what's currently done. It's 2018 and we are still chopping down mature trees and grinding them up to make paper. That's pure capitalistic lunacy.

Good questions, McG.
For an environmentalist to honestly say he or she is against all logging, they would have to own no new books or paper, not live in a stick-built house, have no wooden furniture, own no guitar made from wood, etc., unless all such items were purchased used or were made from hemp (and all of those things, including boards for construction, can be made from hemp.) My own take is, buy used, buy hemp products where available (there just aren't enough!) or only buy wood when necessary. I don't think it's realistic to be 100% against logging, but the reality is that hemp farming would make much more sense in today's world and it would solve all of issues between logging and anti-logging factions. This excellent book (printed on recycled paper) explains in detail how that would work:
As for fishing, I am 100% in favor of boycotting all fish food products from both sea water and fresh water for human and pet consumption. That is my own personal for-the-rest-of-my-lifetime commitment. But I don't tell others what to eat, and I try to remember rather than argue the point, to state my case and my reasons for it. My wife eats seafood occasionally and although I wish she didn't, we are very happy and co-exist just fine (most of the time, lol). My belief is that if we allow the oceans to recover, we will all have a much better chance to exist period, let alone co-exist.

fishes are mindless cannibals that don't have any feelings and rely on instinct for survival and now provide us sustenance through the miracle of tacos.
i wouldn't be opposed to some scheme where all the alt left and alt right nuts fight to the death and then are processed into fish food which are then processed into tacos, Soylent Green style. Technically that wouldn't make me a cannibal.
Me brain be spinning today. Happy Sunday morning everyone!
I went to Drudge to read the original article and found a link on his twitter to this article, which caught my eye much more than the other options, partly because PEARL JAM was in all caps in the few words in the headline.
oh noes, the daily caller. Now that’s out of the way how about discussing the “protestor”.
Oh noes a right winged bullshit site found a jackass to push a narrative for people like Unsung who feed of bias in their bubbles built out of shitty agendas to not have to step out in the real world we live in.

PS Lots of discussion about the Showbox at Friday’s show.
Do you ever address the actual news or just use Alinsky/Ayers tactics to try to discredit the source?
