1. The ideological stance that capitalism isn't a wanted or an ultimate system, isn't astounding. Capitalism is predatory in it's essence. And socialism is in its core based on cooperation over competition.
2. Saying MSNBX = Fox is such "both siding" bullshit that only comes from the american right to legitimize their own bullshit. Like Trump with Charlotteville. Chris Matthews having a hard-on for Obama while putting congressmen and senators up against the wall isn't equal to Hannity, Tucker etc spewing known lies and gaslighting the viewer base for political reasons.
You might not line up politically with Matthews, Maddows or whoever with a late-night show on that channel - but they stick with facts, they do not knowingly lie and skew everything into fitting with a right winged state-media-agenda. The same with their morning show Morning Joe, with a charmless republican as host.
What channel was pushing and legitimatizing conspiracy theories about Benghazi, Obama not being born in the US, and now that the Mueller probe is a witch hunt - Hosts on Fox or MSNBC? Who attacked Obama for wearing a tan suit?

Tough to argue against that, except I think Joe is pretty charming lol

I don't find Morning Joe very "honest". Did you see after some speech Trump held in the beginning and Joe - and the others, who seems to be paid to always gush over Joe's "Lets me take you back to the Reagan era"-takes - talked about how he finally was "presidential". There's a "phony" sheen over the Morning Joe show, and Mikas role and Joes role and the parts they play - over and over. And Joes sell-loving and smug laugh.
Matthews is my favorite - because he feels honest and a straight shooter. And not as pompous and dramatic as lets say O'Donell or Maddow.
Just watch the guy here, and compare to Joe and others "don't rock the boat" standing. The guy is a bit dangerous - in a refreshing way.
If you want really "good" news - you shouldn't watch news channel choosing their content and approach to have people stay through the commercial breaks.
So I guess you all should watch PBS instead. But be entertained by Chris Matthews once in awhile.

I like to listen to NPR news on the radio , I can’t watch fox at all MSNBC I watch in the morning for Joe & night I watch Maddow on weekends I watch public news on my local channel..
I had a long drive yesterday. So I decided to switch between MSNBC, CNN, and Fox news. It was amazing.
My personal opinion has been:
1) Fox news is ridiculously slanted right and lies 2) MSNBS always skews the facts to the left point of view 3) CNN is generally more moderate news reporting but leans left on opinion takes
After listening: 1) Fox News - holy poop, they whine about any criticism of their network and bias by guests they bring on. Every guest with a counter opinion seemed to only be invited to ridicule. VERDICT - Fox news is who I thought they were
2) MSNBC - they are who I thought they were. It's without the face-to-face ridicule of Fox, but that's mainly cause you only ever hear 1 sided voice. I can enjoy listening some now since they bash trump and I am not a fan...but its not news...it's Skews!
3) CNN - probably because of the attacks by trump, they are becoming increasingly MSNBCish. They had some takes that were just awful and had no point other than to try and paint trump family members is a bad light. It's clear Trump is getting to them and it's clear its having a negative impact on them being able to be journalists. Which sucks. I was most disappointed in what I heard on CNN.
I'll continue to follow CNN for news at this point and switch to MSNBC whenever I want to hear some serious Trump bashing. Though the ridiculousness of the Skews tends to get my blood to boil eventually. Fox News I will continue to avoid cause the lies are awful and my blood boils almost instantly when I turn it on.
Remember Hannity is one of your most viewed shows on TV. Having a climate-denier and complete nut being so popular isn't a sign of a healthy nation. And people on here compare FOX to MSNBC... think about that for a second.

"The rise of “democratic socialism” has been one of the key developments in the Democratic Party in recent years, first with the popularity of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and more recently Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s primary win over party mainstay Rep. Joe Crowley in New York.
One of the ways the movement is presented is with the claim that this is not your grandfather’s socialism -- or the socialism of the former Soviet Union, Venezuela or other failed states. It’s more “Scandinavian health care” than overthrowing the bourgeoisie.
But now a democratic socialist writer is leveling with voters, telling them that actually, yes, they want to topple capitalism.
"I’m a staff writer at the socialist magazine Jacobin and a member of [the Democratic Socialists of America], and here’s the truth: In the long run, democratic socialists want to end capitalism. "
This is fox news MO. They’ve been doing it for years where they take one person or one anecdotal event and claim this is “the left” and a downward trend. It’s polarizing fear based manipulation that they’ve taken to the bank. So many conservatives live on the world view that liberals are destroying the country and use these individual stories to confirm this view. I’m wondering when bashing San Francisco and the younger generations will get old.
Tough to argue against that, except I think Joe is pretty charming lol

Being negative towards Trumps actions =/= being biased to the left
What did CNN and MSNBC lean left on? Or did they just lean sane on those topics?
Yeah, good questions. I would say they really just lean sane now.
Sorry I didnt see the question and to be truthful I don;t remember right now specific examples. AS I continue to check them all out on radio or TV to see how things are presented, it is extremely obvious to me that MSNBC has a hard lean left. Again, they don't lie outright like Fox but they do have an agenda to push their viewers to a certain direction. CNN has been more moderate...again, in my opinion...but they have started to get a little crazy with the anti-trump stuff due to all of his attacks on them. I get it, I just don't think it's a smart play by the network.
Sure some of the "left leaning" is just being more factual on some topics....but other times they are trying to create outrage over something just to be anti-trump.

I'm just wondering exactly how bad Trump has to get before people feel that the news networks being "anti-Trump" is just a responsible, unbiased position to take. I personally think Trump is already that bad. Apparently others do not? So how far does he have to go? Forcefully shutting down press offices that don't cover him positively? Banning the press besides Fox and Breitbart and Infowars from all access to the WH? Actual concentration camps for asylum seekers? Eliminating term limits for the POTUS? Declaring war against allies with Russia? What? I'm starting to feel like some people think the news media should NEVER lean away from Trump (aka "lean left"), no matter how fucked the "right" becomes. That just doesn't seem reasonable to me at all. At what point can the media treat Trump as an illegitimate President heading an illegitimate political party?? I personally think he already is one, and the GOP is no longer something that can possibly be viewed as a legitimate political party that serves the citizens. So why can't the media respond accordingly to that?

What “non-stories” have or are being played up?
Ivanka trump's statement about the families being separated. It was just dumb. Sounded like they had been drinking all day and then all ganging up on Ivanka and how she should MAKE the president do something and they don't believe for a second that she couldn't MAKE the president do something. That's 1 example.

Except Ivanka is touted as a “senior advisor” to Team Trump Treason and senior advisors are typically hired staff with policy expertise that advise the POTUS. So, if you’re a senior advisor without policy expertise in immigration issues and publicly speak to the challenges of immigration by basically saying it’s, “complicated,” while not expressing concern for the children who have been separated from their parents and not offering any solutions to the problem your boss created, you shouldn’t be held accountable or criticized by the press? Welcome to stupid government folks.
Poor Ivanka, poor, poor Ivanka. She has no business in the White House other than as a guest. Go back to NYC.
It has nothing to do with "poor Ivanka" but I knew you'd type that before you did.
But CNN/MSNBC playing it off like Ivanka has control over her dad and can make him do stuff and if he is doing something then she must obviously agree was stupid. And could be a straight up lie.
My memory is crap anymore, so I'll have to try and write stuff down when I hear it again.

My personal opinion has been:
1) Fox news is ridiculously slanted right and lies
2) MSNBS always skews the facts to the left point of view
3) CNN is generally more moderate news reporting but leans left on opinion takes
After listening:
1) Fox News - holy poop, they whine about any criticism of their network and bias by guests they bring on.
What did CNN and MSNBC lean left on? Or did they just lean sane on those topics?

Thank god that youtube works up here in the alps
this view. I’m wondering when bashing San Francisco and the younger generations will get old.
Sure some of the "left leaning" is just being more factual on some topics....but other times they are trying to create outrage over something just to be anti-trump.

But CNN/MSNBC playing it off like Ivanka has control over her dad and can make him do stuff and if he is doing something then she must obviously agree was stupid. And could be a straight up lie.
My memory is crap anymore, so I'll have to try and write stuff down when I hear it again.
