"Don't call me Doris ... my beige old cat will remind me."
LOL that's too funny.
i always mishear little things before i bother to know the real lyrics oceans i thought was "like me towards you" instead of "glide" close enough anyway:)0 -

Yes, actually I do believe that Ed sings both of those lines in the song. He mixes it up.

I think it is chafe instead of shake. I agree with you on the rest. I always thought it was Shafe beneath the cloths.0 -

For the longest time I had misheard something in the song Jeremy.
Real lyrics - King Jeremy the Wicked, oh, ruled his world.
Misheard version - Came down on me the weekend, oh, ruled his world.funkhouser311 wrote:i remember when i was but a wee lad hearing glorified g, i thought for sure he said pelican, motified version of a pelican, i got confusedChasing a trail of smoke and reason.0 -
Anyone mention this yet? Just remembered as it was playing now...used to think there was a 'tractor in the sun' in immortality.
Yeah...tractors & pelicans...what a band!0 -

Glorified virgin on a pelican.
That was my fave "mishear" from someone from the old board.

I thought the line in "Go" was "...pulled out a fucking gun" until this very moment. Thanks for clarifying. This actual line ("god") is a heady improvement as well. That "gun" line always seemed a bit juvenille and lazy to me. Anyway.... that's all I got.

This is just something i heard(or read somewhere, cant remember now), but it may have been true:
after a PJ concert, a girl who had backstage pass comes up to Eddie and says "I really liked you guys before i saw this concert. i didnt knew you guys were Racists! i hate your band now!!". turns out that the girl misheard the lyrics on "leash"; instead of "get out of my f**kin' face, drop the leash, drop the leash....", she heard " get out of my f**kin' face, Japanese, Japanese..."!!!

When I was really young, I used to think Jeremy went...gently spoken, Leslie. I never understood why the song was called Jeremy until I was about 15 and actually looked up the lyrics...then I realized that for years I was singing the entire song wrong. Of course...I didn't actually realize Pearl Jam sang that song until I was like 15...I'm 17 now...yes it's sad...please don't kill me.0
