"Her legs spread out before me, as her body once did."
Paging Dr. Freud!
I thought that was the proper lyric. *blushes* What is it?"And all the thoughts that spin...'round my head... I'm spinning... I'm spinning...how quick the sun can drop away"
"Don't it always seem to go... you don't know what you've got till its gone...they paved paradise...and put up a parking lot..."
".... Your dreams.......I see......................"0 -
Its seems there are quite a few mishearings of that one specific line in 'Go.' So I thought I'd share mine, although not as humorous as others ....
'... I turned to my nemesis, A full-on fucking God...'0 -
I always thought the "Turn to my nemesis..." line in Go was "Return to my messes....a fool now it's fucking gone!"0

The proper lyric in Black is "her legs spread out before me..."
I know that some folks think it's something different, but I believe otherwise.

I definitely agree about Black, and the liner notes for Ten and Vs. make it SO hard to decipher the words. Corduroy is a giggle as well, considerin' how they forgot to put that in the Vitalogy book.
I always hear: "The waiting drove me mad, I'm finally here and you're a mess, even though I KNOW it goes the other way round. S'funny.
And Lukin? Forget it, I still don't know it all. I got the lyrics off the net and still find it obscenely hard to catch!
And finally, I, too, will admit to the 'pelican' part of Glorified G, but I quickly looked it up, seeing as how it made next to no sense.
And I always hear "f**king face" on Leash, I was sure of it!!!Too many cowboys, not enough indians, so just go ape shit!
I may be boring but at least I'm not Jack fucking Johnson.
TV is such shit; let's go outside and ride bicycles, right now!

Yes, Ed more often than not sings "F**king face" on live versions. I think that is what he wants it to be, but on the studio version he sings "lucky face" since it's a song about youth and he doesn't want parents in an uproar over their kids singing along to a song that says "F**king" throughout the whole piece. That's what I think, anyway.

LYRICS: Believe me just asking you to sway.No white or black just grey.
Can you feel this world with your heart and not your brain?
MISHEARD LYRICS: Believe me , just asking you to stay. No I don't, practise breaking your feelings... One with your heart and not your brain?
Oh the embarrasment when i found out... Only knew because i was going to use them in my msn username so went on lukin to get it properly! HA! lol
I 100% thought the lyrics for Green Disease were what you thought they were. Infact I had a little giggle thinking the right lyrics were your misinterpretation of the real ones. I would have bet my entire life savings and everything I own that the corrrect lyrics were incorrect. But I have since listened, and looked in the liner notes and .... well lets just say I'm lucky I never made a bet. Wo man, you have changed my life in a small way. I do think the misheard lyrics work well also though.0 -
can I ask a favour of any pj purists out there. I've had a heck of a lot of trouble with a line in hitchhiker. Its right at the end of the last verse.
'... go tell all of your friends, I'm _____________ ...." I have absolutley no idea what Ed sings there. I've tried many internet searches for it, and none satisfy. A lot try to sell that the line is 'I'm an idiot and your great,' but I just don't buy that. It doesn't fit the rest of the song at all. I would appreciate any help on this one.... its been driving me nuts every time I listen to the song.0 -
It's true, the song does go 'I'm an idiot and you're great.'0

My friend thought the line "but I'm glad we talked" in Alive was "But I'm playin' guitar!". I could almost hear it... but not qiute"Sooner or later you'll bare your teeth"

It happens to me all the time. I just blame it on my bad hearing. If there is something I really wonder about, I just check how it is written. But a couple of hours later I tend to forget it. So the next time I listen to the tune, I cant remember how it went. Its very frustratingSmart is being able to see the obvious0

haha the first time my bro heard glorified g he thought the line "glorified version of a pellet gun" was "all five versions of a pellican"PJ at MSG in 2008! Mission Accomplished
The band all knows. We're too afraid to mention.

rvm: (real) fist on my plate : (heard) pissed on my plate >:P
solat (real) sacrifice recieving : (heard) sacrifice of semen (masturbation?)
anyway, bodily function theme, though I never heard "farts and thoughts" in small town...
about leash: although the liner notes say lucky, I'm pretty sure that's not what he says, even in the studio version. I think it's just in the liner. And I never heard "legs spread out..." in Black.
I'm sure I have more, but these are the 2 biggest, I guess."Don't fan the flames. Remember, only you can prevent forum fires." -- Cyber Smokey0 -
