    to me all of this means...even if you are never *caught*...you know you cheated and wronged your partner.........and how you wish you could bring it back to how it once was. to me - this song is very straightforward lyrically. could be just me though. :p

    hey...tis the beauty of music and art in general...we all take from it what we want and all see/hear different things. for me - it is one of the most straightforward songs...for you....maybe something else entirely. there are no wrong interpretations or answers when it comes to what you get from music....one of the many reasons why i love it so.

    haha...i realize you were being serious. hey - i wasn't discounting your opinion in the least...no need to be *humble* about it. just meant - bottom line - none of us will ever really *know*. ed is usually not one to really decipher his words, and i for one am glad. i see no reason for it. you get your own meaning...as varied as they may be...and that is even better. much more personal. aanyway wash is an unbelievably beautiful song to me!!!

    sometimes reading the lyrics...w/o the benefit of music....adds even more to it. i find the same with many songs - especially pj's - and this song most definitely.

    This song is great, I think if Ten wasn't the band's first album and had come out after they were more established, there would have been more tracks on it and Wash would be there instead of on Lost Dogs. Either way it's one of my favorites

    the first time i ever heard this song was at their show in 96 in columbia, MD..i fell in love with it right away!

    wash my love wash my love wash my love WASH MY LOVE! WASH MY LOVE! i love it when he gets angry. i didnt like that song when i heard the intro since it didnt have much of a tune but i persevered and now i love it!

    Thats the only show I saw them play it live. It is a great opener. I always loved the song but seeing it live really brought it home.

    Whenever I listen to this song, I DO get nice, squiggly feelings about Ed and sex and... but really, it's about his giult over cheating on his woman, so ultimately it's a sad & angry little tune.

    well yes, but of course............however, even though this song is really sad/tragic.....the lyrics somehow STILL are so unbelievably sexxxy....and of course ed's growling of the words, such emotional intensity at the end......mmmmmmmm.......
