Who's truly felt the essence of 'In Hiding'?

I am so in love with this song. I am truly in awe of how Ed can convey such a powerful story with such few words....and be so dead on. Give it up for the power of In Hiding!

*cheers and claps vigorously*
And no one sings me lullabyes
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky....

  • i love that pj through caution to the wind and basically wrote a great song with a great chorus. the lyrics are very, very touching and ed really gets into this song which is great.
    The wind is blowing cold
Have we lost our way tonight?
Have we lost our hope to sorrow?

    Feels like were all alone
    Running further from what’s right
And there are no more heroes to follow

    So what are we becoming?
    Where did we go wrong?
  • where's Plaid Surf Shorts (Sarah)? this is her song :}

  • I love In Hiding. I really relate to it lyrically as I'm a bit of a hermit myself. I also see it as the equivalent of Sleight of Hand in the 'storytelling' aspect, they're both two of my all-time favourites.

Really great song, it can give me the chills.
Stone wrote the music, if I'm right? Great great riff
    not to mention the lyrics....
-The only fucking reason you guys chant my name is cuz I'm the only guy in the band whose name has two syllables. We call Stone 'Stoney'. You could chant that, 'Stoney, Stoney' -EV

-Stone has the guts to fly here in a helicopter, but he's too scared to play breath -EV

At Irvine #1, they played this in Soundcheck and it was awesome sounding. They played it for all the Fan Club Members who were just chilling in the parking lot. No one could see them, but everyone could hear them. It was very appropriate and a great version. I remember people just stopping in their tracks to listen to this song!
  • Thats so cool. I wish I could have gone to a show.. :(

I've always liked it..since the first note I had heard. It never really hit me lyrically until recently. I let someone in....was doing my damned-est to keep him out for fear of getting hurt, hiding myself from him. Lost it when I heard it live this tour.....

  • That was my favorite on Yield since my first listen. It just knocks you back to hear it. I guess the liner notes are dead on for this one.
