2020 Tour Rumor Thread

My guess is a 2020 30 year anniversary tour with this being their final album. Then band calls it a day after giving us a glorious back catalog and a lifetime's worth of great music...maybe a few charity events here and there. They "release" some kinda vault/archives/singles material over the next 20-25 years. #PJGloriousRetirementThanksGuysSeeYouInHawaii

^^^no offence to TPAR above, but I hate reading posts like that. Don't give them any ideas. As long as they still enjoy it, mix up the setlists every night, and bring much positive energy to so many people around the world...they should be rocking well into their 70's!1992-07-21 Vancouver

I don't think they stop touring. One thing I always liked about PJ is they only tour when they feel like it. If they're not into it, they take a break. So many bands do those lame press conferences where they announce a hiatus or they break up (only to reform later).PJ gets tired or need a break, they take one. They get bored, they come back and play some shows. I don't think they walk away from that. I think they keep trucking at their own speed.0

I don't believe they will ever do a farewell tour, and I hope the end never comes. Ever. But if it does I think they will follow the R.E.M. model. One day they are here, the next day they are just gone.

I don’t think we see them until 2020"So much it dont show"0

But if they want to do two random shows in 2019 at United center in Chicago similar to 2009, I’d be down"So much it dont show"0

Does anyone remember when the Australia tour was usually announced in the past?
Last Euro tours were June-July and were announced in the beginning od December so 6-7 months upfront

I unfortunately missed the sting gabriel tour so I'm having withdrawal pangs hoping Gabriel tours again!0 -

So many talented musicians make almost no money releasing great music and PJ in addition to being tremendous songwriters was at the right place at the right time
The result was an enormously loyal fanbase providing wealth and security beyond their wildest dreams
While I somewhat agree musicians owe me nothing I always find that comment with respect to PJ curious.0 -
I'll be first in line for tickets, buying albums, merch, etc. However, PJ is on the tail-end of a magical 30 year career. I don't think anyone is gonna dispute the glory days of the 90's/early 00's are over?
Whatever PJ does from now on is icing on the cake. The band is awesome and one for the ages (as good as Stones, Beatles, Zeppelin etc). We are the "superfans" here on 10C, and many (my myself included) have strong opinions of what this band might do in the future. I'm just trying to put their marvelous career in perceptive. I can only guess PJ wants to enjoy their twilight years as they draw closer...hopefully that includes some new music and more tours? If not, I'm all right with that too. Cheers!
