as for the flag, I wonder if the design wasnt something one of the artscorp students did? maybe we can get the ames bros to enroll....

It's not a bad design, but for a rock and roll poster I'd go more with something like this

"Pretty cookies, heart squares all around, yeah!"
    -Eddie Vedder, "Smile"

"Try to not spook the horse."

I want a crucifix with Eddie on it instead of Jesus. Do 10c sell those?

I'm not particularly religious but I would consider buying one of those.  Eddie makes a great Jesus:

  • Jordan Brand made a shoe called "The Rising Sun" and the insoles had a Jumpman with the Japanese Rising sun behind him.

People found this to be offensive as your feet would technically be stepping on the flag every time you put the shoes on, so JB recalled ALL the insoles and replaced them with blank ones.

Thread integrity, I don't wear alterations of the US flag.

I'm not outraged.  I'm not going to boycott the band or anything.
But this flag that they created is classless and disrespectful.
I don't care what cause this is for, subtracting 15 stars, using a lighter blue and adding black stripes to the American flag is totally disrespectful to the United States.
Would you do this to the Canadian flag?
Take it & Make the Maple Leaf light blue & add black vertical stripes next to the red vertical stripes and slap a banner across the bottom saying Pearl Jam Seattle Washington.
Would you do this to Japan's Rising Sun flag?  Put a light blue dot In the center of the red crimson disc so that it looks like a target, or would you add a yellow and light blue Ribbon around the red crimson disc and slap the banner across the bottom Pearl Jam Seattle Washington?
The answer to these two questions is no they would not do that because it would be disrespected to those countries, and those countries flags.
Only to the United States flag is this looked upon as cool and artistic in some circles.  To me it is the same as the NFL players who stand for the Mexican national anthem and then a sit for ours.  Stand for the British national anthem, and then sit for ours.
Why is it the lefties and hippies love, adore, and respect every Nation on this planet except our own United States?

Just thought I'd mention that I've seen numerous "perversions" of the Canadian flag, for all sorts of reasons from hockey teams (Toronto Maple Leafs being the prime offender, lol) to having a pot leaf in the place of the maple leaf.  While not a fan of that tactic, I don't particularly get offended by it.

However, it seems that maybe it's like comedy these days:  I can make fun of myself, but don't dare make fun of you?

I've seen the Union Jack co-opted by punk rock acts for as long as I've know what punk rock was. Are there Brits running around trying to generate faux outrage about it?

Iterations of the Canadian flag are used in all sorts of way and not only have I never been offended, I don't recall that anyone I know was offended either. I don't think that you really have any sense of what people in other nations think or feel. Perhaps consider that before you next post about how others would or should react.

    What communist designed this flag?
Red white blue and black.  A  Colored American like flag with 13 stripes which includes black and there are 35 stars on it.  What exactly is it supposed to mean?  Pearl Jam half ass American flag. I'm about done with this band fan of 26 years.  And Eddie has gone all corporate with a Citibank card holders only secret concert in San Francisco last month.
What do the 35 stars represent??
They represent the 35 thousand other things you could be pissed off at our government for.

I am guessing maybe it has something to do with the last Flag flown under Lincoln?  Perhaps I am being overly simplistic in that, but nevertheless I am sure even an ardent devotee of the flag would understand that it did not always have 50 stars, nor 13 stripes.

I don't often agree with Pearl Jam's politics, that is my own business as to why, but I generally respect them for their passion and find them to be fairly genuine, though perhaps with some selective amnesia.

The greatest thing about the freedom experiment is that so long as no one is actually infringing on your ability live free, then so they shall be able to express their ideas and live accordingly.

I suppose some would call this disrespectful but Abbie Hoffman cared more about this country than a lot of our elected officials do today.

Post some outrage, pretend it wasn't a big deal, back to outrage.

    Grab it by the tassels.
