Neil Young announces new album. 5th since PJ released Lightning Bolt
The Visitor is coming out Dec. 1. Obviously Neil's pace is one that few artists can match, but this drought from Pearl Jam is pretty crazy. Doesn't even seem like a new album is imminent, they barely tour...what do we make of this? Thoughts?

I like the headline....
and hopefully this new Neil album is as good as Psychedelic Pill or Le Noise.

How does PJ stack up to other Veteran Rock acts (their peers)? The Rolling Stones, The Who, Foo Fighters, Tool, Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Tom Petty (he only recent passed so his history still counts), Springsteen, etc....
The answer is PJ outputs less that some, more than others.... Neil is an outlier.. an anomoly.
It's quality over quantity.

Lame thread title, btw. Go find something to do outside.
Neil is a solo artist so tough to compare. And he's possibly the most prolific songwriter of all time although he's produced some stinkers the last few years. I love Neil but I watched him perform 'Mother Earth' and that was dreadful. lol
1992- Lollapalooza, Irvine, California
Nothing since then. I suck.2016- Fenway Park, Boston - Both glorious nights
2022- Oakland Night 2
2024 Sacramento, CA
As for Neil Young... I don't think he gives a shit if people like all the albums he puts out now. Most of them are pretty bad, lol. I actually don't mind Neil doing this just because his catalogue is massive so I'm completely satisfied already and am not left wanting more from him. If he wants to throw shit on the wall and see what sticks, I actually think that's kind of humourous and endearing... However, I'm starting to feel a little bit bad for Promise of the Real. I think NY really helped them at first, but at this point I wonder if he's not perhaps weighing them down a bit, given what they've done since The Monsanto Years (which I liked pretty well). Well, at least he is still teaching them stuff.
Maybe fix the thread title - you spelled lightning wrong.

Third point is that I thought for sure 100% that PJ was calling it a day after those two Wrigley shows, and obviously that's now not the case, so I'm learning to not make anything out of anything
