TRUMP: Holier Than Thou....

I'm not a social media magnet on ANY social site. I do recall some years ago being on My Space and by the time I got the thing set up MS was dead. I can't even remember what the hell was the purpose of the thing. Now we have Bookface or something to that effect, I haven't been on there in well over a year now. Today we have this thing called Twitter, I've never been to the site, twitted a twit or anything of the sort. ALL I know about it is that people go there to talk about stuff instantly I guess and our President appears to be a huge fan of it.

I don't usually come on AMT to comment on our current president. To me it's a waste of my precious time BUT after the president got into a Twitter battle with a recent Gold Star family. I have to say something about the ridiculousness of aggressively attacking a grieving family is going too far. It Matters none if he was right or not if the family feels hurt by his comments well then apologize and make it right for the family. However that's impossible because a narcissist sees themselves as never being wrong and appear to can't put themselves in other people's shoes. Empathy, tolerance and compassion seems like something that doesn't exist within him.

Anyway, this song and it's words seems to be speaking to Trump and after paying close attention I think it does.....Holier Than Thou

https://youtu.be/JGtnrNHGPkU

No more!
The crap rolls out your mouth again
Haven't changed, your brain is still gelatin
Little whispers circle around your head
Why don't you worry about yourself instead

Who are you? Where ya been? Where ya from?
Gossip is burning on the tip of your tongue
You lie so much you believe yourself
Judge not lest ye be judged yourself

Holier than thou
You are
Holier than thou
You are

You know not

Before you judge me take a look at you
Can't you find something better to do
Point the finger, slow to understand
Arrogance and ignorance go hand in hand

It's not who you are it's who you know
Others lives are the basis of your own
Burn your bridges build them back with wealth
Judge not lest ye be judged yourself

Holier than thou
You are
Holier than thou
You are

You know not

Yeah
Who the hell are you?

Hey you

Holier than thou
You are
Holier than thou
You are

You know not
Know not, NOT!

RANT OVER!

Peace

Same here i can't tolerate the hate spewed out. I left face book over 3 years ago sadly alot of my pj worldwide friends went with it along with all the lovely pj traders i had built up trust and kindness with.
I came to a life changing decision and turned off all social media..."could have tuned in ,but he tuned out"
As far as a president or any leader of a nation having direct access to the world via a "tweet" that could start a war in seconds. Its disgraceful. And they should be banned by law of using it.
As i say its "anti-social media".
Those words to the Metallica  fit perfectly o.p.
Im watching this unfold from the u.k. where we too have a nation of twats on twitter and idiots who walk into you on the street staring at faceache on their phones instead of looking where they walk...god i sound old..i hate tjose damn emoji things as well whilst im at it

Oh goodie!  Trumps State of the Onion speech (his motto: Make America a Strong Odor Again)!

    I can't wait!

Dems shouldn’t even dignify the racist Team Trump Treason with their presence. Just allow the camera to pan a half empty chamber. Or allow the repubes to fill it with their minions and watch Team Trump Treason go all out rabid when they Nazi salute. Does anyone doubt it would happen? Be honest.

That would be great but you know how the GOP would spin it , that the Dems disrespected the POTUS on & on ..
i say they should attend and just sit there no clapping or standing for him at all and at the end they should in unison chant liar liar ..

Pretty much guaranteed no matter what he says, he will make an ass of himself.  And us because, in doing so, with much of the rest of the world looking on, he will make America look stupid again.

It was also taking too much of my time.  Between news sites, emails, Facebook, a few blogs I occasionally browse and these forums, I already spend plenty of time on-line.  Sometimes I think maybe too much.  As warped and injured as we've made it, the real world out there awaits!

yeah, I spend way more time on social media than I should. I'm on here at work, but at home I'm on facebook and twitter. I guess it's equivalent to the old days of spending a couple hours reading the paper, but it just seems different to me. I also watch very little tv.

when it's nice out, and not mars-like temps, I'm on those way less. But right now, holy shit.

I rarely watch TV as well.

Funny (and OHHH how we digress, lol), I just read Patti Smith's fine book M Train in which she mentions a number of times stuff about her favorite contemporary detective shows.  I've had this somewhat smug attitude about what a waste of time TV is and here's this creative person I admire so much who has made some great music and written some fine books and knows tons about literature and she's... a detective show fan?  We'll I'll be darned!

when it's nice out, and not mars-like temps, I'm on those way less.

We'll I'll be darned!
the romantic (and probably mostly incorrect) images we have in our heads about what our heroes do in their spare time, eh?
    Exactly!

For me, it's been very useful. been in direct contact with some of my musical heros that way. not many other ways to do that. but, I will admit, I have wasted many an hour on there being drawn into the negativity.
Yeah I have migrated to Twitter....I used to hate it, didn't understand it.  But damn you can get great information directly from reporters, etc. on there.  They don't post on fb....twitter is kind of the serious news feed and fb is recipes, etc.

The comments on trump and other current events on twitter are hilarious. I like the immediacy of it, but you always have to be careful to what’s acutally true and been vetted. E.g. if you follow Seth Abramson, you can get swept up into thinking trump is going to prison this Thursday.

I like em too. I definately have a different emotional response though. A well written news article on collusion leaves me in a state of ‘well there’s a good chance he’s gone’. With Abramson I’m like ‘THAT MOFO IS GOING DOWN!!!’

I picture him having a whiteboard with pictures, etc. in his house/office that he constantly updates.  He is great at being able to compare something said today vs something said 6 months ago.

After the so called summit today I now see Trump as beyond an *Holier Than Thou* figure, he to me he’s *My Friend Of Misery*......

    https://youtu.be/JXQS1d_aVfo

    You just stood there screaming
Fearing no one was listening to you
They say the empty can rattles the most
The sound of your own voice must soothe you
Hearing only what you want to hear
And knowing only what you've heard
    You, you're smothered in tragedy
And you're out to save the world

    Misery
You insist that the weight of the world
    Should be on your shoulders
    Misery
There's much more to life than what you see
    My friend of misery

    You still stood there screaming
No one caring about these words you tell
My friend, before your voice is gone
One man's fun is another's hell
These times are sent to try men's souls
But something's wrong with all you see
You, you'll take it on all yourself
    Remember, misery loves company

    Misery
You insist that the weight of the world
    Should be on your shoulders
    Misery
There's much more to life than what you see
My friend of misery, my friend of misery

    Misery
You insist that the weight of the world
    Should be on your shoulders
    Misery
There's much more to life than what you see
    My friend of misery

    You just stood there screaming
    My friend of misery
