What a beauty! What a masterpiece! I'll never get over it. And to hear it live?!?! I have always loved this song, and I've been in Iraq for the past 11 months, and I'm going home in 4 weeks (finally!!!), and last night, my lovely wife Heidi who never really knew PJ other than Black, Betterman, and Last Kiss until I forced them upon her (hehe), send me an email with just the lyrics for Oceans and added "I love you Matt" after it.

Very hard not to start crying even with 3 other guys around me, this song has instantly just magnified in its meaning to me. There are a couple of other songs that really express what I've gone through, and my love for my wife (You Are is ANOTHER incredible love song, THIN AIR, also not a PJ song, but one I'm sure Eddie would agree on is BARGAIN from the Who).

For a "grunge" band, they have written some of the most beautiful love songs. OK, getting emotional now as Hard to Imagine is on in the background and the "things were different then, all is different now", outro is playing......

Really...I can't say it enough...one of the most gorgeous things I have ever heard. And the line in my sig floors me everytime...especially in this version....his voice is just drenched in emotion. It's a mystery to the cosmos that this song wasn't on their greatest hits. I can't figure it out for the life of me. It's one of my favorites off of that CD, if not my ultimate favorite.

such a perfect song to open the unplugged show. i loved it when ed said "thats a little love song i wrote about my surfboard... actually its about someone named beth who hopefully i'll see tomorrow". i got the unplugged show for £3!!! it would have been worth it just for oceans if you ask me

Not a problem angryyoungman, always happy to spread the love. Yeah this site is kick ass! Check out the Oceans demo. Pretty trippy stuff. I completely prefer Ed's vocals on the studio version...fits way more. Still, pretty damn cool that we can hear such things all on one site.

Ok, to save them you need to do it one by one. Click on the song and then it will open in the little Quicktime window...let it completely load and once it does just go to "File" at the top of your browser and hit "Save Page As". This should save the mp3 to your desktop.

While I'm sharing the love I'll share another stellar version of this always gorgeous song. I love this version (like there's ANY version I don't love...but yeah:p ). I can't even put into words what the man does to me when he hits my sig line! MY GOD!! Every version switches it up in some way...sometimes his voice is so strong there, sometimes it quivers, other times it's just so gentle and other times twirly. Regardless, it always floors me and the way he makes it rise and fall like a wave!? Jesus!! I love how perfectly in sync this song is with itself.:o

oceans is truly goosebump-inducing. I am currently downloading as many versions of it as I can find to stick on the iPod. I'm currently on only 6! :(

I think that there're no words to describe the feelings this song brings me...
I stayed on the beach all new year's night, in a party that ended 12 AM next morning, and meanwhile we were driving to the party we put Oceans in the car and we just flew away..... listening very loud the song while we were at the beach in the middle of the night.... I think that's the best way to start the year, don't you think?

I can't really explain why, and it would take ages if i tried to explain it, but that song means so much to me. Definitely one of my favourites by Pearl Jam, i have many favourites but that ones always right up there.
