  • love this song, it makes me think of kurt, and of the tragedy of live.

when the song starts, i wish to cry, but the song still leaves a little smile on my face when it ends,
and then i think to myself: "that´s why i love this band so much"
    i hurt myself today,
to see if i still feel,
    i focus all the pain,
    the only thing that´s real...

Vitalogy beginning to end was IMO Ed's best lyrical work...i like the darkness of it...that was the album that got me hooked on PJ

Listen to "Immortality", read the lyrics, look at this picture, and tell me what you think.

  • Definately one of my favorites. I remember my friend and I used to just hang out in our cars at the park, smokin and drinking listening to Immortality for hours.

When I first heard it I though Eddie was saying "a chilling fine tone" then I read "a truent finds home".. Funny!

I can't stop listening to this amazing song!!!! :o:o:o Damn, it really is one you just get completley lost in. There are also certain songs that fit/ compliment this time of year and the feeling it inspires...this song just hits home with it. What a match! So incredibly tranquil. :o

    *sigh* This part....

The way the song picks up there gives me chills everytime!!! And as we all agree, that last line is one of the most powerful ones out there.

Much love & praise for the holy IMMORTALITY!

  • This has always been a favorite of mine.I wish they would have played it at CamdenII but they played some great songs anyway. It is a classic one of a kind sounding song they just don't write them like that anymore.

  • I reckoned it was written for Kurt - the parallels are there - the writing on the wall, so to speak. Such a fuckin trite thing to say but can't help it. And I'm not a brick either.

I always thought it was 'vengeance has no place so near to her...'

I agree HunterandHunted. I'll always feel Kurt in this song. Like I said before, that last line especially. :( It completely seals it for me.

It's cold and overcasty and I notice that I seem to listen to this mesmerizing gem extra much on days like today. They just seem to really compliment each other. :o I'm wrapped up tightly and cannot stop listening....

Haha, I like that. Pearl Jam is immortal.

Immortality is just one of those songs that stays with you after you heard it. After listening to it, I find myself singing it for days in the most random places.
Oh he fills it up with the love of a girl...
  • It's beautiful.

You know the thread titled Which Pj song are you?
    Well I'm Immortality :)

One of the reason's why I love PJ so much is it gives me words to my feelings...

Awsome song, both words and music...

Especially when Mikey build's it up in the middle...then brigns it back down to a crawl...Fuckin' Mikey!!

  • Incredible song. My favorite. Vitalogy would have been a good cd w/o Immortality but this makes it one of the best. Just my humble opinion.

Immortality is my favorite song on Vitalogy
  • Mine too.

    el oscuro me mantiene
    cuando yo te vi
en la lluvia me prometiste tu sangre

    Estrella de la mañana
    Samael te persigo a ti
y si me quedo sin alas
    ademas me muero por ti
