i can't think of a better song right now.

vacate is the word...vengeance has no place on me or her

    Ooooh man! I remember the first time I heard this I was just STUCK. Soooo gorgeous. I remember me and my friends all had our automatic favs from the record and this one was definitely mine. I mean right away it grabbed me and has actually stuck with me since. I love this song in every way that one could possibly love a song. It's incredible. :)

    when i first heard this song... i listened to it on repeat for days. wow.

    the syllable fluctuations are perfection... and the intonations.. amazing. :)

    ed has a powerful way with words. that is for sure.

    Actually, I do love this song of course but it's not in my top 10 or something. Probably top 20, though. I guess i was going a little overboard w/ the username. oh well it was a long time ago.

    Incredible song. My favorite. Vitalogy would have been a good cd w/o Immortality but this makes it one of the best. Just my humble opinion.

    I just started to listen to it the other day, and I have hardly stopped. It is just too good for me not to listen to it nonstop. It's a good song if you're sad, or even if you're indifferent (although that has its own tune).

    Anyways, I love this song.

    This is my favorite song. It has such powerful lyrics. Does anyone believe that the song is about Kurt Cobain? Eddie insists it was written before Kurt's unfortunate death but it has so many coincidental ties to Kurt.

    This solo?! The way it just rings?! These acoustics?! Ahhh the song is soooo gentle and gorgeous...it's all magnified and exaggerated at BENAROYA! Just....STUCK! One of those PJ songs that truely take care of you.

    I wish I could hear the song live-HINT!!! Actually, the more I think about immortality, the less I understand what the song is about. I haven't dived deep into the meaning, but it seems to be about the present as opposed to any question of the future - what do you think?

    I think this is one of their very best. I've said that I think it's up there with the great, classic rock songs, like Stairway to Heaven, Love Reign O'er Me, and All Along the Watchtower, etc. By boyfriend scoffed, but Immortality has a groove and a sound and lyrics that are classic and enduring and... immortal. Not to mention how AMAZINGLY perfect Eddie's voice is for this song, and add to that the legend that swirls around it regarding Kurt's death. Just an incredibly great tune. IMO. ;)

    Definetly one of Ed's finer lyrical moments in my honest opinion.

    A trap door in the sun...in the sun I feel as one. If I recall correctly PJ were kinda disillusioned with fame etc by this time. Espcially after the Atlanta concert and Kurt's passing.

    The songs ends on a very upbeat note though...doesn't Mike use a Doboro on the track?
