Ticket demand is probably too high in Chicago play an Arena anymore? They sold out two nights at Wrigley. Imagine how tough it would be on fans to land arena tickets.

Agree. UC can only happen during a full new album tour. Otherwise, Chicago is too big of a draw to play an arena.

Great point. My question is: why is pearl jam so popular again? It's not like they've put out a new album or anything.
Chicago, Boston and Philly are to the point where anything less than 2 ballpark shows just wont meet the demand

Same can be said for Toronto, New York and Seattle too. The point of the ballpark shows has to do with how special the venues are historically and too the band. I would argue that MSG would be the toughest ticket in town to get when you look at shows head to head and you do not see them playing any stadiums in NY anytime soon or in the past recent years.

That’s a good question. It seems like tickets are getting harder and harder to get. Maybe that’s just how it seems to me and that’s not actually true. I’m really hoping for that reason that the US tour is fairly big so everyone has a shot at going. If it’s just one coast, getting tickets will be really tough.

I'll go to Wrigley but I'm more excited for some smaller market arena shows. Hope we get some.

I was kind of thinking it'd be Lollapalooza next time in Chi. Especially if they're putting a new album out and also playing lolla in South America. Also with the Foo playing two nights at Wrigley, don't you think that minimizes the chance of PJ playing. Seems like Wrigley likes to keep it pretty diverse with the genres every year. Probably doesn't really matter when it comes to Pearl Jam/Eddie tho.

Hard to say, because all these Chicago shows end up being national draws. Ed was even pointing out international people at Wrigley.
If they had slipped 2 shows in at the UC during the 2014 tour, somewhere between Moline and Milwaukee, would it have been so crazy? I don't know that answer.
I definitely agree about the Wrigley and Fenway shows. I was at both and both were epic, but I’d really be hoping for something different this year. At the very least, why not a different stadium? Doesn’t matter which stadium they play, it’s obviously going to sell out. They could play in Sri Lanka and it will sell out in hours. Why not Yankee stadium? Crazy history and those New Yorkers have shown they know how to bring crazy energy to shows. (I’m a west coast guy, FYI).

Good point, i just mean any other stadium that has some history. Ny is just such an epic place to have a huge show; that they will draw huge crowds. How about Camden?

There are few historical professional stadiums in the U.S. Wrigley, Fenway, Dodger Stadium and Lambeau Field. That's it.

I've just booked a free cancellation hotel in Madrid, tempted by Mad Cool as the line-up is normally pretty decent. It's started.
