Backspacer was released on September 20, 2009. That year there was a run of random August dates before the first leg of the tour supporting the album kicked off in Seattle on September 21st.
Lightning Bolt was released on October 15, 2013. That year saw a few South American dates in the spring followed by London, ON and Wrigley in July. The first leg of the Lightning Bolt tour kicked off in Pittsburgh on October 11th.
My belief is that the dates we have already for 2018 are probably all the dates they are playing, with the possible exception of an additional festival or two. But, the possibility does exist for a new album and tour in the fall. The model is there. And before anybody says, "Yeah but Eddie said no more tours in the fall!" remember that they took 2017 off entirely and...
...Eddie says a lot of things.
He does say a lot of things. However, as a die hard cubs fan myself, if I was wealthy enough to not work again and could go to every cubs playoff game, I would never miss a game. I wouldn’t expect any October/early November tour dates for the next 5 years or whenever they’re clearly not contenders anymore. It’s the Cubs baby!

So they WERE recording in Seattle last month and the new album has been confirmed. Fall tour to follow?

Looks like this is it for 2018. Bring on 2019!

I'm predicting an Australian tour for early 2019. They always tour here when there is a new album out.
Sydney, Australia - March 12, 1998; Sydney, Australia - February 14, 2003; Sydney, Australia - November 8, 2006; Sydney, Australia - November 25, 2006; Brisbane, Australia - November, 2009; Gold Coast, Australia - January, 2014
All I know is I wouldn't put out a new record and not have a tour to sell/promote to coincide with it
Maybe like eastern/midwestern North American dates in September following Fenway... Oz in winter 18/19... western North America spring 2019... Europe summer 2019... Latin America late 2019....
Then take another hiatus leading up to massive PJ 30
My guess is Austrailia/NZ in January 2019 Spring 2019 USA Midwest/West Coast tour with 25-30 dates. Then in the Fall 2019... Some sort of destination show (South Africa/Tokyo/Hawaii)

It's all about the album. If the release is soon then fall dates are in play. If it isn't until the end of the year then see you in 2019. Likely starting in Australia.
Starting to have my doubts. I sat next to someone that worked for live nation Nl over the holidays at Springsteen in Broadway. I think he was the CFO. He was confident it would be added once PinkPop sells enough tickets. Time will tell.
The Philly rumors are starting up again for September 8-9. I know all signs say no, but I have faith in the PJ rumor network.
Coming from where? I would be happy for those that can go if it happens but I would be some what disappointed if they make this announcement after already having the lotto for the other shows. My plans would have changed a lot and I could have saved thousands of dollars.
Saying that I would try and find away to go if my wife lets me .
