thing is ed has been writing like crazy for various projects since 'pearl jam', one can't help but think he's got some thoughts for a new PJ album.

i sometimes amaze at guys like jack white who can do a raconteurs and a white stripes back to back.
then there's the constant (at least it seems to be constant) chris cornell stuff. kinda makes you wonder if PJ feels the need to tour with each album, or if they could put something out....then 9 months put something else out and just blow out an 18-24 month world tour. i know there's family implecations and all, but i know jeff, stone, ed and mike (and unfortunately matt) have ideas...why do they wait so long?

    just a thought....
  • They played Crapshoot a.k.a Comatose at a show in 2005. The Northwestern School Benefit, I believe. And Ed played Gone at one of the Borgata shows.

"Dinosaur" - They have never shied away from the fact that they are aging rockers, and this would be a pretty cool name for a big rocking album from PJ!

    :)

i dont really care when any new material comes out as long as its good, and ed showed with ITW that if they need/want to release things quickly they can.
But id prefer any new albums to be good, not quick.

And im still hoping that some of the tracks will resemble the atmospheric background tracks on Immagine In Cornice that were written by Mike and Jeff.
Mike was also doing music for soundtracks of somesort according to himself around that time....im expecting a much more varied album that Avocado

Probably none.. they didn't play any new material for the '05 tour.

But in 95 they played Red Mosquito, Lukin and Brain of J. They might want to road test a few.

I bet Ed is pretty inspired right now. I would hope he is inspired like he was when he came up with the whole concept of No Code.

This is what is so ironic to me about the other thread on "slowest year" or some such shit. Tour just finished, tour on the way, new album in the works, Brendan O'Brian back at the helm, BONNAROO, and more possible dates later in the year both Ed and the full band. This is the most exciting time to be a Pearl Jam fan and some people are worried that they are breaking up!?!?

I think an album in 2008 is pretty possible, maybe even likely. I can't really see them taking quite as long as they did for Avacado this time around. If we got a new album in September/November, that'd be 2 1/2 years. Although, if news don't break at some point by July or so, I don't think we're getting one this year. The music is ever changing, so who knows.

Call the new album....."State of Love and Trust".....since that's what the relationship has been with the die hard fans over the last 17 years. They could also include an updated version of SOLAT on the new album.

  • They definitely need to get back on the 2 year swing:

    1991

    1993
    1994

    1996

    1998

    2000

    2002

    2006

    2008?

    2010?

Anything longer than 2 years, is just too long to wait...
