Wait so if you disagree with AOC or how she goes about things...you are just falling for some GOP effort?

Well in the latest they are falling for an 'ethics' Conservative think tank that is targeting AOC with some deep reporting by the NY Post.

You can disagree with her, but have a better filter.

Having a daughter...I’m a bit confused but your “allow your daughter to date them”...I’m guessing most daughter eventually make their own choices ;)

But I know what you meant. Groping a cardboard cutout is creepy as hell.
So if your daughter came home with one of these creeps and said, “hey dad, I want you to meet my boyfriend,” you’d be okay with that? Because she made her own choice?
At 12? Or at 22? Different answer ;)
Well, you can marry in the US at 12. So should it really be a different answer ;)

We've been through this.  Some old laws on the books for sure...and these aren't the only old laws.  No idea why they can't just be fixed.

Who's "falling for it"?  Are you saying it's impossible that a freshman congresswoman and her rookie team could ever fail to follow the complex campaign laws? Is it beyond the realm of possibility?

And your dad has problems. And I'm gonna say what kind does he have? And you gonna say he stabbed your mom. And then we gonna be at the Halloween party. And that guy is gonna drive by in the red car. And we gonna go upstairs and have sex for the first time. And when we come down in slowmotion the camera is gonna do that cool 360-spin. And then someone will whisper that all living creatures die alone. And yada yada.

Exactly. Not sure how Smelly made that fantastic leap, but I don't recall people falling for anything. I do recall people legitimately calling her out for missteps. I also remember that her Chief of Staff created chaos, and is now stepping away. Many of her missteps were due to that douche. It's too bad some didn't understand that thread or the context. There have already been ramifications for some of the lunacy and missteps. I'm glad things have settled down in her camp. I'd rather be in a position of defending her against the #moscowmitch crew than criticizing her for dividing the party and assisting Trump in his reelection.

  • Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday called Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) "Moscow Mitch" while attacking him for blocking House Democrats' legislation, including election security measures.

Pelosi invoked the "Moscow Mitch" moniker while referring to McConnell's embrace of his portrayal as the "Grim Reaper" blocking House Democrats' progressive policies from moving forward in the Senate.

Anyone else have s problem with the state that bestowed Representative Steve King upon us has an outsized influence on our presidential candidates? The Dem party and candidates ought to skip the Iowa caucuses until that guy goes back under his rock. Jeesh people.

I don't blame Democrats in Iowa for the behavior of one representative.
I blame Iowans for Steve King and dems should boycott that judgement.
He represents one district,  not the state.  Why would Republicans in that district that voted him in care if democratic candidates boycotted the state.  You're handing the electoral votes to them.  It would be counterproductive.

If my state elected a shit bag like him and I lived in that district, I’d do everything in my power to see he didn’t get re-elected, including changing my party affiliation to vote in his primary or caucus and for the dem in the general. He’s embarrassing their state and the fine people who don’t support him. Meh, wink wink nod nod.

No disagreement there, but you're arguing that the Democratic candidates should refuse to do a Democratic caucus there due to the votes cast by Republicans in King's district.  That makes zero sense.

What do you tell the 47% that voted against him in 2018?  Sorry, you didn't do enough?  I don't get your point on this one.

Convince another 4%-5% to vote against him? To do everything you can to see him defeated? Request that the rest of your delegation ignore him, ostracize him? Call the repub and request they not endorse him? Seriously, what will it take? Boycott businesses that give to his campaign? Doing nothing is no longer the option, on this and so many other issues. Complacency and normalization should not be the norm.

They’re enablers. Wink, wink, nod, nod.
If you think that giving up the electoral votes is worth it,  that's your prerogative.  Other people around here try to paint a country with one brush.  You're doing the same to a state.
Unless you say you’re running but you’re boycotting your campaign spending. Seriously, what does it take for the powerless to change some of these abhorrent situations? Nothing gets attention like the almighty dollar and one state or district does not a campaign make.

Whats that old quote, “Steve King might be a racist and a misogynist but he’s our racist and misogynist?”

That's bullshit.  Complete and utter shit.  Tell me who said that.. which Democrat in Iowa, or actually,  according to you,  show me where they all said that.

I never said they said that. You asked, “what could they say to the other 47% that didn’t vote for the guy.” You asked what they could say to those folks. I offered suggestions.

Washington (CNN)GOP Rep. Steve King of Iowa questioned on Wednesday whether there would be any population left on Earth if not for rape and incest, a remark that has drawn condemnation from both Democrats and Republicans.

"What if we went back through all the family trees and just pulled those people out that were products of rape and incest? Would there be any population of the world left if we did that?" he said in Urbandale, Iowa, according to video posted online by the Des Moines Register, which was first to report on the remarks Wednesday.
"Considering all the wars and all the rape and pillage that has taken place ... I know I can't certify that I was not a part of a product of that," King said. "I'd like to think that every one of the lives of us are as precious as any other life," he added.
The remarks came as King was defending not allowing exceptions for abortion in cases of rape or incest.

Listened to Dan Crenshaw on Joe Rogan's podcast yesterday. Pretty good. Seems like a reasonable-enough guy. Talked about his respect and friendship with Gabbard but how they disagree on U.S. military occupancy around the world. Had a couple good points about pitfalls of the Green New Deal, while still noting alternate ways of decreasing emissions. Kind of a typical Republican on gun violence, but seemed more open than most on ways of handling it.

Somebody has some компрома́т on #MoscowMitch

Mitch McConnell at nexus of increased Russian leverage on U.S.

“A day after the dinner in Switzerland” between the Kentucky aluminum plant conduit Craig Bouchard and a rep for Manafort’s handler / Putin’s right-hand man Oleg Deripaska, McConnell blocked the bipartisan attempts to keep in place the sanctions against Deripaska that had just been lifted by Trump.
