We've been busy partying since November of 2016.

Today we start another celebration.  It's a great day as tax reform moves forward.  Gonna be a great 7-8 years of financial prosperity due to falling tax rates.

Thank you Hillary -- this wouldn't be possible without you being such a loser

Yeah, for sure.  It's gotta be nice!

What's it feel like to be up there in the top 1%, Fixer.  Lotta nose bleeds?
Definitely not in the 1% -- my family is still getting a healthy tax rate reduction.

How does it go?  If you're a Republican you're either a billionaire or an idiot.  If you're unsure which you are, check your bank account.

This isn't a tax reprieve.  It's a cash grab for the wealthy, and you've been conned.  Congratulations, sucker!

yeah, Im easily duped! I like to refer to it as the monopolized media.
Have you come across a reliable proposed tax calculator? I think one was posted on here but it seemed too simple. As I understand the new proposals certain Sch A deductions are capped.

Im stealing this from someone else, the US Treasury will gladly accept any amount more than is due on your tax return. I suggest making two checks payable, 1 for the taxes due per your 1040 and the other for students, teachers, veterans, seniors, disabled, homeowners, adoptions, 1st responders, chronically ill, just notate that in the memo field. Im sure the Treasury department will spend it wisely.

Exponentially? Are you really sure you meant exponentially? I suspect not, unless you did mean to answer that question you posed.

Definitely not in the 1% -- my family is still getting a healthy tax rate reduction.
Hedge funder? remember when Trump promised to close the carried interest loophole?

ha, I wish I was a hedge funder.  I'm just a normal married guy with kids who works hard and pays taxes.  My family is far from rich, so it will be great to have a tax reprieve for close to a decade

not all republicans are part of the 1% -- don't listen to the liberal media

How does it go?  If you're a Republican you're either a billionaire or an idiot.  If you're unsure which you are, check your bank account.

This isn't a tax reprieve.  It's a cash grab for the wealthy, and you've been conned.  Congratulations, sucker!
so because I have money in the bank -- and will soon have exponentially more money in my account due to lower taxes - I'm an idiot?

money is a good thing.  having more of it to use at your own discretion is a net positive.

that list above is cute - nice reliable source you've got there
Im stealing this from someone else, the US Treasury will gladly accept any amount more than is due on your tax return. I suggest making two checks payable, 1 for the taxes due per your 1040 and the other for students, teachers, veterans, seniors, disabled, homeowners, adoptions, 1st responders, chronically ill, just notate that in the memo field. Im sure the Treasury department will spend it wisely.

Why can't they get anything done despite controlling all branches of government?

And will they survive the trump impeachment/resignation?

We've been busy partying since November of 2016.

Today we start another celebration.  It's a great day as tax reform moves forward.  Gonna be a great 7-8 years of financial prosperity due to falling tax rates.

Thank you Hillary -- this wouldn't be possible without you being such a loser

Exponentially? Are you really sure you meant exponentially? I suspect not, unless you did mean to answer that question you posed.
I used the correct term.  Look at the discrepancy in current tax brackets and the newly proposed brackets.  Big difference in some of the percentages.  Great stuff.

more irony... some would consider this tax bill a huge handout. the carried interest is quite a handout! as the details of the bill become public in the coming weeks, we can further discuss "handouts'

My wife and I are in line for a nice tax cut here....but we know it's fools gold. It's temporary and we're all going to be paying for it in the not so distant future anyway. Should be obvious to everyone but rushing it through so fast without having hearings/going through regular order is because they just want to say they did something/anything legislatively this year. It's irresponsible politics from the party, who up until 11 months ago claimed they cared about our national deficit........what happened to that party?

I’m in the same boat except in the final year I’ll pay more and as my income should rise between now and then, that chunk in years 10-15 and beyond will more than make up for what I gained. In addition, the “savings” I’ll enjoy will be banked and I’ll increase my 401K contributions in an effort to lessen my tax liability and save that money for when I get fucked in 10 years. The money I save from my take home pay will most likely be spent overseas following PJ so I won’t be contributing to the fantasy of 4% growth in GDP.

Republicans are just hoping people are stupid/ignorant to this stuff and only concerned about an immediate tax cut which will help them in the midterms. That's all this is about-politics.

lower tax rates means more money for individuals - this is a good thing for many americans
If you're not a 1%'er, you're not getting much of a tax break. Anyway, the individual tax rate in the US is relatively low when compared to other countries.
And you 'snowflake' reference is interesting. Isn't this notion of 'boo-hoo I pay too much in taxes' what drives the support for the tax cuts?
