to clarify, i wasn't using the word "novelty" in a negative way in my comments above to describe the baby taylor.  It's good for travel or if you want to take outside and not worry about dinging up.  It's just not something you would record or choose over something else to play to a limited audience.

And depending on your son's age, it may be perfect.  I'm looking at OOO Martins and grand orchestra Taylors (mainly just looking) because I realized I'm playing my GS Mini way more than any of my dreads because the size is just right.

FYI - If you are planning on buying a nice Taylor, they have a deal for $100 baby or $200 GS mini (if you pay $$$ for nice taylor that is ;) )...

I got this last week. Been looking for one for years. It's an ESP Vintage Four. Made in Japan, relic'd and spec'd with excellent pickups and hardware.

    Sweet, @dudeman

I want to get a real bass at some point. The rinky-dink Squier Bronco I have is fun, but when I see a guitar like yours pictured above, it gives me aspirations.

At some point (read: when I when the lottery), I'd like to try out a StingRay.

Just finished up this EV inspired tele. Sparkle finish, p90 in the neck and a rosewood (in this case pau ferro) fretboard. The middle position sounds great, but he p90 really over powers the bridge so I need to tweak the balance. Hopefully I can keep the stock bridge pickup without having to swap it for something with a bit higher output.

    And with my RW tele

Awesome! Been looking for a smaller acoustic myself lately. I'd like to get an acoustic/electric, preferably. It's been awhile since I went to the music store just messed around. I think that changes this weekend. I also want a drum kit....and another electric...and...

    It never ends.
    I LOVE MUSIC.

I got a custom wiring harness for mine from MojoTone.  It has 500k pots and a 250k resistor so the P90 gets Gibson values and the bridge gets fender values.  that and some pickup height tweaks has mine balanced perfect.

I canceled my Gibson SJ200 order from late 2020.  Tired of waiting and kinda pissed that they are churning out all these new acoustic models without taking care of orders from 20 months ago.  Understand they need to release fresh stuff, but 20 months is ridiculous.  Was getting it for $500 less than current cost but not want to hassle with flipping it for maybe $100 profit.

You can still get a true Gibson made at 225 Parsons St, Kalamazoo, MI.  Where they made them for 82 years.

The head-stock and name is different, but the legacy, quality, and quality control is leagues above the what they a churning out in Nashville. (where Gibson just decided to add light bulbs to the production area a mere five years ago so their workers could see what they were doing :s

Heritage makes beautiful guitars. I have toured the facility a couple times. They really do incredible work there.

I hate hearing that about your SJ...I've been trying to order one for what seems like years now and they are never in stock...I had seen them online while I was on vacation this summer for about 3 days and foolishly thought I'd just wait until I got home to order it...oh well...I will get one at some point...many years from now most likely - especially given your experience...that sucks though

If I was spending SJ-200 money I would look at one of these. https://www.fullersguitar.com/gibson-custom-shop-1957-sj-200-vintage-su-52351784.html

That is exactly the guitar I'm looking to get from Gibson - it's a beauty and I've fallen in love with it...but for $1k less...I feel like I'm in Wayne's World...but one day, she will be mine...

Assuming I don't lose my patience and pull the trigger on the Hummingbird Original in Heritage Cherry Sunburst which they do seem to restock from time to time...but are currently out of stock on...which helps keep me more patient (I guess)
