I get saving some $ by buying elsewhere but is the 10 club worth a premium? Save the international vs amazon or other band shipping methods. We all work hard for our money, but as for me and my money it goes to 10 club. All I get from them is well worth a small premium on my favorite bands products

It is not like the band is not getting the money from the other retailers. The deals negotiated with the online retailers is certainly needed. The reach is far greater than that of the ten club. The band is still getting their cut no matter which vehicle of distribution it is sold from. They still have staff overhead and operating costs as a business and ( pick / pack / ship fees) etc.. Items shipped directly in bulk to the fulfillment centers of these online retailers is all that is needed and they are done. At the end of the day I would guess they are making more on the shipping and on the sale from the Ten Club but not much at all.

I don't understand the thought process that the 10c vinyl will be different in any way, shape, or form. If it were unique, or limited in any way, they would state it right on their sale page to gain, and not lose, sales.
Plus, yet another advantage of Amazon is that you get the audio rip mp3s right in your account as soon as it is released. That is a nice bonus, since I'm guessing there will be no download card included with this vinyl, as there has not been for recent vinyl and vaults. That right there is a constant source of disappointment, and a reason to go the Amazon route
Agree on the Amazon download. Even when I ordered Chris Cornell Songbook on vinyl. It was out of stock, they didn't know if/when they would be getting more and I still got the download instantly. Also they don't ship the preorder on release day, it arrives on release date.

It's mostly because of the Mad Season vinyl. The splatter versions weren't announced in advance. No one had any idea. 10c didn't advertise it in advance. People randomly started getting them in the mail. Thus now every time 10c puts out a record, people remember, and wonder if it could happen again.

I don't remember... did we know about the Red version of Lightning Bolt in advance??

No the red Lightning Bolt was a surprise, not announced from what I recall.
Also, I thought the "digital" version of Let's Play Two was supposed to be released on the 25th? What happened to this?

If i remember correctly - red LBs were pretty random, far from a majority. I ordered from 10c and got black.
White Backspacer was a completely separate sale.
How frequently were the Mad Season splatters popping up? I don't recall it being a majority.
Far from a majority, that's why they go for $200+ now. Once all is said and done, you can't not order from 10c if you live in the states unless the $13 shipping is too much. If you're overseas or int'l, it's your choice but I'd go for Amazon.

That's exactly it for me. I preordered the 'ten club' edition of lightning bolt which cost me an extra $20 shipping to Ireland instead of buying it in my local record store and all I got was a video. No red LB for me.
The free new years eve boot was a decent ten club edition to avocado.
The Mad Season splatter was another wasted postage for me. Could have just got it in my record store for a hell of a lot cheaper.
There is way too much non information re: ten club edition of this release for me to justify an extra 20 on it. Especially considering the $43 I spent on postage for the vault. If there were clear details, that'd be great, otherwise it's all non info.
Vinyl up on Amazon.CA ... $43.19 after taxes shipping included... difference of $36+ CDN

I'm a consumer of the music more than I am a collector of the media, so I don't really give a shit about variances or colors. I just want to spin a record. So for me it is a no-brainer - don't order from 10c unless it is an exclusive item.
