There is the issue of record cutting plants being slammed by the industry and not being able to keep up. So if the band takes too long to decide what's going on it, that extends the wait.
Just a thought

I think its lateness is only beaten (so far) by 1994 when they never gave us one and instead did a double single in 1995.bone said:Not trying to complain, but is this one of the latest ones ever?

Still waiting for 2016 single in July of 2017? How are they ever gonna be caught up at that pace..im an analog member and there's very little info on when the download will be available. Guess 2017 single will be coming in 2019 at this rate.. not good.0

I will always & continue calling it the annual Pearl Jam Christmas Single, cause that's how it was started. It had to change to Holiday single cause people today are very VERY offended with the words "Christmas" like it's the end of the world. It's true. Now they stopped calling it the Holiday single to just an annual single?Vedd Hedd said:Dont forget this is no longer a holiday single. Just an "annual single". So, there is no reason it has to be out on the holidays.
That said, are we waiting on the 2016 or 2017?

drummerboy_73 said:Even if it's an "Annual single" and not a "Holiday single" anymore, there's really no reason that they shouldn't have a decision made by October/November, something into production by December, and singles delivered by March of the following year.
I once heard that RSD (plus maybe Black Friday RSD) really puts "the hurts" on production.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -
mace1229 said:Calling it a "holiday" single at least gives them until the very end of the year. Sounds even more lame to call it a 2016 annual single when it's delivered August or later 2017.
at what point do us analogs get refunded $20 when nothing comes out?
The $20 also gets you a $9.99 download code plus the shirt and magazine. Ok, so the magazine comes with the record... so maybe a refund of less than $10??Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -

I think so. Renewal was only 5 bucks back then, so probably not many dropped out anyway.
Anyone who was a member in 1994 or 1995 got the double.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -
I hope the single has something from TOTD tour.Bob's Your Uncle0

I don't think anyone was offended with them calling it a christmas single.
Heck, a bunch of their songs ARE christmas songs.
I just think it was changed because they no longer wanted to promise it at christmas time.

The problem is that Christmas is the last time of the year to put it out before it becomes 1 year late. By giving up on a Christmas deadline, they are destined to having it be at least 1 year late every year. Now it's on the verge of lapping itself and once again becoming the Christmas Single
