Well clearly you have not had the Mexican Pizza at Taco Bell. It's good

How many of those disgusting microwave prepared things did I eat as an 18 yr old?  Oh man, too many.     

Unfortunately I had many as a 50+ year old.  There is a Taco Bell next door to my son's tutor. Better than a $6 slice that has been sitting out all day. And it could be considered a probiotic LOL.

$6 a slice?  Is it gourmet pizza?  Wow.  That's a big fat no for me.

NY prices. Even for a grandma slice or a simple margherita. And that is why I end up getting Taco Bell LOL.

Where are you in NY?  Hell I live on Long Island and it's only $3.50 a slice for reg or Grandma.  A margarita is a little more.

I spent most of 1991 in Norfolk VA for my Navy Electronics A school. I had a classmate who basically lived off of beer and pintos and cheese from TB the whole time we were there. He could clear a room with his gas. It was disgusting.

It never looked appealing to me at all...

Imagine going to California and having proper Mexican food and not enjoying it because there was no sour cream, lol. Now I crave it and have to make my own specialty dishes because we do not have proper Mexican food in NY.

Food truck and carts, or not in NYC. It has been awhile since I have been in Manhattan but also 28th to 31st on lex. Cabbie heaven.

Although I will say it is better than it was 10 years ago.  Still cant get proper Chillaques or huevos rancheros like you can in Texas.

We don't have a lot of Mexican people here believe it or not.  Everyone is from further south.

A Mexican staple is Albondigas soup.  You know how many places I have gone into and they look at me like I have ten heads when I ask for that?  Every single one... Which is weird because it came from Spain through the Arabs so you think it would be prevalent.

I have yet to find a truly authentic Mexican food place that didn't have Hondurans making Mole sauce.  Mole sauce is made further down south so that is what most restaurants cater to. I do judge a place on their salsa.  If that is good then you usually have a well made meal.

Tex Mex is a unicorn here too.

It's like trying to find good NY pizza outside of NY.  It doesn't exist.

I found a place in Brooklyn that had GREAT Mexican breakfast.  They were South American but they made good Huevos Rancheros. Mex Carolls Diner.  It's not too far from the Promenade and the Piers.

Thread integrity.  Not sure if I posted this but Barstool went to one of my old Pizza joints to try them out.  Pizzaiola in Oceanside.  They used to be the best here but have done something different where it doesn't taste the same and the scoring shows it.  The guy called it "football pizza".
