For anyone who was there, how was the "Girl from the North Country" I love when Dylan and Cash do it. Was it a duet, or just him?
all songs were solo, except for those 2 with Liam Finn, "throw your arms around me" and "society".

I first heard that song from that duet from Dylan and Cash, I think it's the best version of it all. Ed did it alone, he did a good job but I still prefer the Dylan/Cash version.
Does anyone know where to find the version of Better Man that Ed used as his intro ?

Montreal 2; the best IMO ED show of the 2 nights at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier.
My seat was D 25. 2 rows closer now then night 1. Again, in the middle. Another great night. Seeing Ed on stage, just moves the hell out of me. The crowd was a little well mannered. Well, little. The new 48 hour song was wicked. Another sold show. The birthday girl & her dad onstage was beautiful. I seen the little girl outside playing with her dog, minutes before the Liam set outside, backstage where many were waiting for an Ed apperance.
That day, I was late coming in from Old Montreal. Went out with a few friends, checked the sites. Had a lovely time. I made it to McLeans pub at 2:30. D'oh! Sorry. The fundraiser today was for Share The Warmth - http://sharethewarmth.ca/ . I had raffled off a poster I bought the other night, a '08 Pearl Jam CD Bootleg etc.. We raised that day $350 dollars. It wasn't bad. Wished more have had shown'd up. As I posted info on the Eddie Vedder fundraisers on Facebook, Myspace, Last.FM, LiveJournal, RM etc.. It was a 10 minute walk. I know, I'm sorry. But it was tough to find a location. While checking the sites that weekend, did find a few pubs around the area that were close to Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier. So the next time, we'll see what happens.
So didn't want to leave that night. After the show's, all my friends left. The night was young, but everybody turned away. To the left, to the right, up, down etc.. :( You get depressed sometimes. But what ya gonna do. I went on this trip on my own. Organized the fundraisers as much as I could. I'm from Halifax, NS .. didn't meet anybody here at was in attendance. Does get lonely.

I believe you're referring to the Small Town cover by African singer Mburu. Many of us have asked about this including myself and we have yet to find any recordings of this cover.

1st of 3 ev shows and the last report in. very nice venue. was a bit disappointed liam didn't do the meet and greet after his set but his set was great+. best 10c seats of the 3 shows. this was the show that almost didnt happen so a big thanks to the local fans for selling it out x 2
when there were rumors floating about re ev's east coast tour i knew toronto was pegged for a show but also had the feeling ev would do montreal cause of his/pj's love for canada. glad it happened. was already booked the nite before so the sunday was a relief when it went on sale.
slipped out after liam's set for a smoke and lost my ticket stub and hustled to get back in. crazy story. the concert gods were on my side. weird
freaked a bit when we saw the alien dude sweep the floor after the main ev set, before the encores. didnt see that "dude" in toronto but that part of the show became a fast bathroom break...anyone know if that dressed up sweeping character with the mask showed up in toronto? weird freaky stuff.
got a batman poster and ate smoked meat(medium). there were tons left.
didn't make any preshows but im a big charity person already.
ev really ON for these shows. so lucky, are we all.
Hi,
I'm italian, just come back from my Ed-related vacancy in Canada.
first time in this forum, only to say that I was at Montreal 2th, and I can swear - no doubts - that Ed told "vaffa..." in italian, answering to an Italian in the first rows who had just told him "quanto sei bravo!" (that, in english, sounds like "how good you are!").
After "ciao", it's the first italian word strangers learn... I think Ed said it just to show to his fan he'd understood he was italian.
Have a nice day, you all.
Sorry for my english.
Bye

But the Ed experience that night, I won't forget.
Very mysterious...
