Sounds like a great show, but I thought "Unknown Thoughts" was the song he wrote just before the NJPAC show?

Although Ed fucked up more songs in night 2 than night 1 I liked a lot of the improv in night 2. Small Town sing-along with Ralph and his beer drinking with Ed. The Happy Birthday singalong for Jenna was sweet too.

Ed trying to play RVM like Mike and his comment about Stone's idea for "Dead Man walking...around" were cool as well.

First show as decent but my seats left to be desired as they were non 10c tix but the 2nd show's 10C tix were the best i've ever had at ANY shows i've been to

    2nd row center baby!!!

had Ed in my face all night long, shook the man's hand at the end of the first encore and high fived him during hard sun!

like most are saying he was more chatty on show 2 as the crowd seemed to be a little more civilized.

oh and to the girl sitting behind me with a crying 3 month old baby who was breast fed during the show, c'mon get a sitter next time!

I was wondering if anyone had any further descriptions about the new song...I know it must be difficult to describe a song to someone who's never heard it before, but what guitar was it played on, and/or harmonica. Was it kind of a folk song, or is it comparable to any PJ songs? Sorry for the barrage of questions, but I'm really excited to hear about any possible new PJ/Eddie material.

I'm curious about this song as well.
There is an interesting thread discussing the meaning of the term "unthought known".

Indeed. I'm just as interested in hearing about the sound of the song, fast slow, what guitar, repetitive, etc. Again, it can be difficult to describe, but it is the first sign of new material from Eddie since ITW, and possibly from Pearl Jam since 06, if it gets brought to the band. I'm just excited to hear how it sounded.

I met you at the montreal 2 show after the crowd had let out. we were standing by the side of the merchandise booth (the one run by the two women on the east side of lobby) and we were chatting about the how good the show was, my buddy was dissing ed (?!), your friends had left you.... I forgot to ask you your name, you said you are from montreal,...if you are reading this...

Does anyone know this woman? PM me if you do.

    Thanks

It was because someone from the audience had just yelled something in another language (most likely french, but it almost sounded like it could've even been italian). I guess Eddie obviously couldn't understand, so he figured the logical response would be a random foreign explitive. I thought it was hillarious. You gotta love Ed!

    3. Vaffanculo! (vah-fahn-KOO-loh)

This is a red-hot number, so use it with caution. It’s the Italian equivalent of “fuck off” or “go fuck yourself,” but literally means something vaguely like “go do it in the ass.” “Culo” on its own (meaning “ass,” but in a much more vulgar way than the English can really translate) has many, many uses in Italian, but this is the one non-Italians can latch onto quickly - which is both entertaining and a bit dangerous! The accompanying gesture for “vaffanculo” is the same as it is in English - a middle finger.

Apparently this part of Ed's Italian tutorial was edited out of the IMMAGINE IN CORNICE DVD.

Maybe it was Italian and sounded quite the same...

nope it was the italian Vaffanculo...
but you're right, quite close to the French "Va te faire enculer", which means exactly the same thing!
