Good grief. Same old ignorant bastards here I see. Like honestly, do any of you ever feel ashamed about how little you know!?? Has anyone here been to North Korea or know of anyone who has been to North Korea? Came on here to see what people thought of Fahrenheit 11/9 and got several reminders of why I'm not on here anymore.

Lol... feel free to enlighten everybody...
Have you been to North Korea?
Is this where you tell us NK us a secret utopia and KJU is a righteous and beloved leader?
Ha, it must be really, really frustrating to be the smartest guy in the room all of the time. Hopefully he'll spare himself the frustration and avoid this place. I wouldn't want to see his blood-pressure go up. I wonder if "old ignorant bastards" is a term of endearment. Clearly he misses everyone. I've not been to NK, but personally know 2 people who have. I'm also interested in seeing Fahrenheit 11/9.

All these put downs... what a drag. Maybe time for me to split as well. Fuck it.
But don’t you find it ironic that poster comes here to tell us how dumb and uninformed we all are except him/her ...we all need to learn
Yes, the whole put-down thing was an all-around notion. Too much of that on the train and at one time or another, most of us do or have done it. Call me on it if I do it!

What is it about potential peace on the Korean peninsula that scares the left?
It doesn’t just scare the left, it scares your generals who need and like war, it scares politicians on both sides who receive lobbying cash from military suppliers...
Having followed threads like this one and reading Henry Rollins' account of visiting NK (and even better, recently seeing his travel talk/ slideshow which included a bit on NK), I've become interested in and fascinated by this strange little country. What has really been teaching me a lot about this place so riddled with horrible problems is this amazing story published in 2012, Escape From Camp 14 by Blaine Harden. Highly recommended not for it literary prowess (OK that way, not great), but for the insight into this very troubled country.

There are youtube videos of him being interviewed. Fascinating story. There are also plenty of youtube videos of folks filming the country when they are in it. It is a fascinating country. Just not high on my visitor's list.

Not on my list, that's for sure. But mainly because both from hearing Rollins talk about it and even Harden, author of the book I mentioned, a man who has strong connections and has been to and reported about places that are very difficult to access- even he said that there was little to learn from his visit to Pyongyang. He basically said, "I was led around by my keepers and shown what they wanted to see. I learned next to nothing." It's an incredibly closed nation.

I didn't know the left was afraid of peace between the to Koreas. I haven't read anything that gives me reason to not want peace between the two countries. But then I don't know how well the situation is understood. North Korea has been described as our enemy and a threat. Yeah, there are some hostiles people in NK, but most are poor peasants who starve to death in droves. Neither country is a major power. What's the deal?

It’s not that the left is “afraid” of peace on the Korean Peninsula, its that the very stable genius Team Trump Treason is negotiating for our side. Can’t even take a question from a reporter for crying out loud. ❄️❄️❄️
How can you honestly fault Trump on this one? I think your TDS is clouding your judgement. If nothing else this should be the one thing you give him credit for, he did get this process going when past Presidents preferred a policy of isolation and sanctions.

Because he claimed success when nothing has changed except the two sides stare each other down with less troops and Little Rocket Man is getting pissy because Team Trump Treason hasn’t given him anything. A zero sum game might work on developers and contractors but not a nation with nuclear weapons and backed by China.

On the surface, it does look like Trump has had some influence on making peace happen in the Koreas. But this begs the question: What are his motives?

Trump Tower in the demilitarized zone as starters...
I'm all for that. But for some reason, I don't trust Trumps motives as being simply for peace. What has his life been all about up until now?
Money and attention, right?
I do not know what his motives are. I do think it is good for the area, he no longer lobs missiles over Japan. Personally, just a guess ... but maybe he wants his Reagon moment, Reagon was considered a major factor in the wall coming down in Germany and taking on Communism, maybe Trump wants that moment.
Just so you know, I am not getting into some long-winded Reagon debate, I'm just suggesting that maybe that is what Trump wants.

Not unique for that poster. Actually has a lot to contribute on many topics, but sheesh, not the best with people...over the computer at least.
