I wonder how this will be received by fans?
Soul-eater is likely to tweet about this so I'll just put it here. If I'm incorrect, it won't be the first or last time. :)

    NASCAR statement on confederate flag
    ByNASCAR Statement NASCAR.com June 10, 2020  at 4:45 PM

“The presence of the confederate flag at NASCAR events runs contrary to our commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all fans, our competitors and our industry. Bringing people together around a love for racing and the community that it creates is what makes our fans and sport special. The display of the confederate flag will be prohibited from all NASCAR events and properties.”

There are NASCAR fans who thought that changing from "Winston Cup" to "Sprint Cup" was "PC."  This is going to be interesting to watch to say the least.

For the life of me I'm puzzled as why we have military bases named after Confederate generals. Many were straight up racists, many owned slaves and fought against the US. If I'm mistaken but isn't that treason. Yet the names remain, I've had ROTC training at Fort Bragg and had no idea where the name came from but I do now.

We could end up with a real issue going forward about how we deal with our history.
George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe and many other founding fathers owned slaves. What do we do about that? Do we remove all monuments to them and anyone with a history of slave owning or racism? (They beheaded the Christopher Columbus statue here in Boston the other night and the city is removing the statue this morning). Do we change our money and remove Washington, Jefferson and Jackson (Jackson should definitely go)?
I think we have to mention that aspect of these peoples' lives when we teach our kids history but still have to teach the positive aspects of their contributions to our history. It's tricky.

Yes it's tricky but if military bases, statues or our money is never to be changed or discontinued then we should place a notation of that person's history in ALL their positive or negative contributions to this country. No matter whether it's on a statue, money or military base, just give the FULL picture of that person.

It is.  But I do find it odd to name any federal facility after someone who lost to the United States.  Do we name things after Red Coats?  Or Japanese/German generals from WWII? (Well, maybe some day with the Germans)

It’s amazing to me how much “patriotic” Americans love symbols of attempted secession.

virtually all of the  officer corps , certainly the generals , served with distinction in the mexican war as members of the US Army, prior to choosing to dishonor their oath of office .

I suspect the naming of these places was done by officials in government from the south long after reintegration.

538 reporting a 14 point gap on the same day 1.5 million more Americans had filed for unemployment. And don’t forget, a “glitch” prevented the DOL from posting accurate unemployment numbers. That and economists are predicting at least 9% unemployment through the end of the year and beyond. Covid deaths surpass 112,000 (“it’ll be gone, like a miracle, soon to be zero”)Team Trump Treason is a Colossal failure, like everything else in his life. Suckers.

Are there attractive Anarchists? And if so, would that change Team Trump Treason’s opinion of them? Maybe he’d do better to help them with their posture rather than exacerbate it?

You can't just have an abandoned police precinct and dudes like this walking around with AR-15's (I thought liberals wanted those banned?). There doesn't appear to be any violence or looting, which is good. Though police say local businesses are being threatened with extortion, per Fox News anyway.

    Peace

    Peace

i never understood why we would ever name military bases or training facilities after generals who failed and lost the defining war of their lives. seems like the ultimate participation trophy to me.

    HILARIOUS
It’d be funnier if Team Trump Treason had used the lightning bolts but maybe Ivanka Darlink told him it’d be way too obvious to come out like that?
