Democrats felt assured and didn't bother, while many people typically indifferent (but leaning to the Republican side) were extra motivated given they just had eight years of a black man serving as president with a woman waiting in the wings.
I mean... among many votes lost... Trump should have lost every minority vote, every woman vote, every disabled vote, and every blue collar working man's vote (if that blue collar working man was playing with half a deck).
