Statement by Ohio Republican Gov. Mike Dewine reminding the GOP what LEADERSHIP looks like.
I'm sure they will turn on him soon. Too much spine.
"I am deeply concerned by the anti-Semitic sign at Ohio’s Statehouse during a recent protest rally. The sign was vile and disgusting. While even disgusting speech is constitutionally protected, it still demands condemnation. The recent Internet post by Ohio State Senator Andrew Brenner, likening Ohio’s Department of Health Director’s actions to fight the corona virus to those taken by the Nazis in Germany during World War II, must also be condemned. The comments showed a complete lack of understanding of the Holocaust -- made even more offensive by posting on Holocaust Memorial Day -- and was a slur on a good, compassionate, and honorable person who has worked non-stop to save lives and protect her fellow citizens. Any complaints about the policy of this administration need to be directed at me. I am the office holder, and I appointed the Director. Ultimately, I am responsible for the decisions in regard to the corona virus. The buck stops with me."

The promises given to FDR by Corporate America that they would "take care of this aspect of American life through competition" is not working. We have huge companies employing vast numbers of Americans that do not even have healthcare benefits.
Corporations no longer compete against each other for workers through enhanced benefit programs.
Not to mention the argument of stifling creativity and invention because you lock your people into jobs based on fear of losing healthcare.
Lose your job.. you won't have any "Choices"
Transferred to a different area by your company? "Choices" are what your employer says are your choices..
If the care is the same, then your only problem with it seems to be all citizens getting it.. Attitudes like that are why we have problems like this.. ME ME ME ME ....
You are right... I do what to take away your INSURANCE, and give you the same care but with the safety net not to lose evethign you've worked for all your life only because you or a loved one gets sick.. ... I want every American to have Healthcare.. doesn't matter if they stock grocery selves, work in hospitals, fast food... or have a cushy corporate job..
Maybe care just a little about your fellow citizens...humans??
Taking your choice away???
You don't have a choice now.. You do what your employer says or you're on your own.. What kinda of choice is that?
I want to give you healthcare without the worry of losing it for your family if you get sick or lose your job.
I guess if you lack any empathy what-so-ever for your fellow citizens your position is understandable, yet at the same time you fail to see how M4A would protect you? How is this any different than poor people voting for Republicans? Vote against your own best interests.. great idea!
And you don't "give" anyone anything. TNSTAAFL. Period. Maybe I lack empathy in your eyes, but I think you lack comprehension skills.
If the care is the same... why would you rather pay more for a plan that covers less and has zero protection if you lose your job?
How long have you had your corporate job with that insurance plan? How'about the other people you've worked with for years...how long have they had it?
So let me get this correct.... for my comprehension !!!!! You're okay standing on a plank? Okay with losing healthcare for you and your family and all those other people you've work with and their families at the mere whim of a Corporation?
Then again I guess it depends on the Corporation...right? The people stocking groceries at Corporate Giant Walmart don't even get the option to buy healthcare insurance through their employer... I just hope the corporation you work for doesn't; decide to do the same before you retire..Post edited by myoung321 on"The heart and mind are the true lens of the camera." - Yusuf Karsh

2. I've been employed everyday of my life since I was 16 and change, uninterrupted. The only time I didn't have insurance was when I was under 18, a minor. My parents did not have insurance, so I didn't either. For the second part of your question, I spent 15 years at a national bank. Would you like me to list each person I worked with and their length of employment? I could break into the bank's SQL database and extract that, and then concatenate with my current corporate data. I'll post that to twitter for you. Does that work?
3. Your 'standing on a plank' statement. That question is nonsensical considering what I have said no less than 10 times. If there is gov't and corp option, I may choose corp (after weighing the plans). Then after I lost my job, I could go to the gov't. Again, there must be a cognitive issue here because you ask questions and make statements that are disconnected from my oft repeated stance.

All the churches near me and to my knowledge city wide are shuttered forcing AA meetings out too. HOWEVER , there is one small church right around the corner that has opened their sanctuary for meeting space since its not being used and has enough room for appropriate distancing and even go so far as to provide lysol spray for the cloth seating and lysol wipes for surfaces we may touch.
