"We must vote to reject the House abuse of power, vote to protect our institutions, vote to reject new precedents that would reduce the framers' design to rubble, vote to keep factional fever from boiling over and scorching our republic," Mitch McConnell said.
"Washington Democrats think President Donald Trump committed a high crime or misdemeanor the moment - the moment - he defeated Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. That is the original sin of this presidency - that he won and they lost," McConnell said. "Ever since, the nation has suffered through a grinding campaign against our norms and institutions from the same people who keep shouting that our norms and institutions need defending."

So some time during the night a rooster clucked and strutted through here. But I suspect a rooster has more foresight, depth and class.

    Similar to Trump.

The words foresight, depth, and class should never be attributed to nor associated with the currentcu elected president.

They weren't, or at least that was not my intent.

  • Well, surprise, surprise. Think any senate repubs believe this to be in violation of the Emoluments Clause of the constitution and thus impeachable? Oh right, its in the nation's best interest.

See THIS is the type of stuff I wish they impeached him on. Tangible waste of tax-payer dollars that even the biggest Trump-lover would have to say "Umm...wait a minute." People would care more about that than withholding military aid to the Ukraine/looking for dirt on Biden.

The Trump lovers are OK with it.  The more it owns the libs the better.  They won't start (pretending to) caring about stewardship of public funds until there's a Dem (if that ever happens).

I think you're right overall, but I also think it would resonate with more people than the Ukraine or Russia stuff did. Even if only by a little.

This is why their tax "cut" bill was purposely designed to expire at end of 2024 (Trump's 2nd term) so they can bitch about the Dems fucking shit up when people's pocket books are hit in some way.

You can also book it that they're impeaching the next Dem president on the day of inauguration.

I hear ya, but the reality is, people have been willing to ignore our intelligence agencies and side with Russia and Trump over them.  I don;t think they for 1 second give a rats ass about this.  I really am not sure what they would give a rats ass about.  They apparently are willing to ignore anything so long as they get to have 1) Their guns 2) Conservative Supreme court justices 3) The illusion of border security

Seth McFarlane had a good line about this at Trump's comedy central roast. Paraphrased a bit....

"We're here tonight to celebrate a self-made millionaire who put his nose to the grindstone, worked hard, and made a success of himself. That man is Fred Trump, Donald's dad."

Another good line was "Trump's the type of guy that films himself masturbating, then masturbates to that video."

    4) Victory over the true enemy of the United States, the American left; their own countrymen/women.

Also, whether it's Fox News or their own cognitive dissonance, they just can't seem to bring themselves to be aware that any of it's going on.

    Politics-as-sport for the loss.

Well, surprise, surprise. Think any senate repubs believe this to be in violation of the Emoluments Clause of the constitution and thus impeachable? Oh right, its in the nation's best interest.

I know but you would think if ANYTHING would get under someone's skin, it's an (alleged) billionaire wasting their tax dollars to throw parties in Florida!

    You would think, but......
But he's a self made, successful business man, full of integrity and the libs should just leave him alone and let him MAGA.

Ouch! I love those comedy roasts. I saw one where Betty White was either roasting or roasted and it literally made my sides hurt. Who knew Betty White could be so funny? And Mike Tyson being roasted was a hoot as well.

I love the roasts.  But you got to watch them uncut for sure.  I still think the Pamela Anderson one was the best.
