    The law from the late 60's (after Bobby Kennedy was AG) was about appointed cabinet officers, I believe.  The VP is an elected office, so it may be exempt from the law.  
    I suppose so. It just seems kind of weird, though. If trump dies or is removed, his daughter succeeds him. that's fucking royalty. 

    anyone know the level of outrage when JFK appointed his brother as AG? I'd be curious if it was at the same level as ivanka being one of his advisers. 

    when you think about it, that appointment (Bobby) was pretty dubious. 
    Bobby was definitely sketchy, but that's how the Kennedy's rolled, that's for sure.  At least he was a lawyer and had some experience serving as counsel, etc. I have no idea if there was outrage or not, although that was a different time and place where we didn't have 24 hours of cable news telling us how mad we should be.  
    this is exactly it, and why I hate social media and the 24 hour news cycle. I honestly don't think we'd all be stressed out as we are about trump if not for that. news is there to be bought and sold. so upping the drama definitely increases sales. I'm not distrusting of MSM like trumpsters, but wading through the "does this level of outrage fit the event?" is getting exhausting. 
    I can see your point but if it wasn’t for the reporters and 24 news cycle the Baffoon would get away with way more crazy shit..

    So the DOW is down another 1,000 points and the Coronavirus appears to be gaining steam and is eventually going to have a real impact on the economy, similar to the crash and meltdown of 2008, if it continues to get worse.     but he's literally a nobody when it comes to the trump admin. all he's there to do is to give CNN a "we have a trump traitor" working for us. like it gives them some sort of credibility, when to me it does the opposite. they are grasping at the bottom of the barrel every time they have someone like him on.

    It's amazing how many on the left (which I am) think he's going to lose.  He's going to win; maybe even Reagan/Mondale style.  The Dems are going to have to figure it out if they want a chance to beat whichever of his offspring is going to run in 2024.  #TrumpDynasty is on.

    History shows incumbent presidents are usually the favorite at this point in the campaign. So that's not unusual... The fact that he is not a larger favorite is probably due to the fact that he and his base refuse to expanded towards the moderate side, as past 2 term presidents have done. Who the hell knows???.. I guess you can throw out history since we now live with a Reality Show Gov't

    I predicted Trump would win (both early in the primary, and then again when he was the nominee) so I will continue to make that claim (though I wouldn't have minded being wrong). But obviously not many people felt the same (certainly not the media). So I get what you're saying...it's silly to suggest Sanders has no chance when a loon like Trump won. And I agree, Sanders could win. Is it likely? No, but it wasn't "likely" that Trump would win to most people.
