Option for International shipping of items
I think its a universally accepted truth that USPS shipping, especially internationally is crap.
So I hope this helps others in a similar position to me, but recently I bought a poster on Lost Dogs. Not a particularly collectable poster, its not the prettiest or most rare, and so it set me back $40. However USPS shipping was quoted at $80 to ship it internationally to the UK. OK, that included some insurance and some tracking, but c'mon...
Instead we used parcelmonkey.com. Express international shipping cost around $40 (there were cheaper options available) and the seller didn't even have to go to the post office as the courier collected it. The shipping was fulfilled by DHL, was fully insured, tracked all the way, and best of all it took less than 3 days door to door. Hands down that was the best shipping experience I've had from the US.
Hope this is useful for others; buyers and sellers. Of course there is likely other similar sites, and so if you know of any, please share your wisdom.

Minimium I've paid USPS for a poster is $50 (on several occasions, which I thought was just the cost of doing business) and they always took between 10 days to 3 weeks to arrive in the UK. In my experience with USPS the tracking status stalls and doesn't update for days, and like I say I was quoted $80 for this recent poster.
Which is precisely why $40 (which I grant you isn't exactly a bargain) seemed so much better when the poster arrived on the Friday when it was collected in the US on the Wednesday.
Just trying to be helpful, because frankly my shipping experiences haven't been great. Maybe I've been unlucky then?
