WASHINGTON ― Fifty-eight House Democrats voted to advance the impeachment of President Donald Trump on Wednesday, in direct defiance of the pleas of House Democratic leaders earlier in the day.
A vote to table the impeachment resolution was agreed to 368-58, with four Democrats voting present and 126 other Democrats voting with Republicans to kill the resolution.
It may seem like this was an overwhelming confirmation of Trump ― and it was, in the sense that no Republican voted to advance impeachment and more than two-thirds of Democrats joined their GOP colleagues ― but 58 Democratic votes is still a significant statement on impeachment.
I can't profess to know much about the impeachment process, but they all probably knew, at this juncture anyway, that impeachment would never stick. it would be a waste of time and tax payer's money. do it when they have something concrete.
even if something concrete did surface it would unlikely be anything Russia Russia Russia related or election related. based on what has turned up so far whatever it is will be 6 ways of separation something or other from 15 years ago. problem now is that the gop are now calling for a special counsel to investigate the special counsel. it's a glorious time to be alive!
mueller has requested trump's finances. don't be so quick to assume they won't find anything election related. it's still very early.
that has been disputed by trumps attorney and retracted by Bloomberg
Deutche Bank has begun sending information about its dealings with Trump to investigators following the subpoena by Mueller.

Yup, no Russia, Russia, Russia here. Nothingburgers abound. Its all about the unmasking and the wires tapped. Didn't know any of this 10-11 months ago either. Investigate the investigators because they made this shit up. Russia, Russia, Russia!
In his session with the Intelligence Committee, Trump Jr. was pressed to detail what transpired on a call he had with the president about the Trump Tower meeting in July 2017, just days after the news of it broke. Trump Jr.’s email chain, you will recall, confirmed that he took this meeting — which was also attended by Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner and then-campaign chair Paul Manafort — in the full expectation that it would yield dirt on Hillary Clinton provided by the Russian government, which was trying to tip the election to his father. Trump Jr. declined to detail the conversation, on the grounds that lawyers for both Trump Jr. and his father were also on the call, meaning it is protected by attorney-client privilege, a claim Schiff rejects.
We also didn't know about this 10-11 months ago. The funny thing is, these guys thought they could act like they did in the NYC real estate and business worlds. Politics/government, a whole different set of rules. Rules they had no clue about because Trump, the brilliant one, didn't have a clue about governing, governance or what his role in that circus ring was. So, mistakes were made. Mistakes that will lead to impeachment and jail time. Cheney and Bush would have been on Meet the Press sneering at the camera and daring you to indict them. Then gotten away with it. These guys? Not so much.
Perjury? Obstruction of justice? Lying under oath?
The emails raise new questions for congressional investigators about what was discussed at Trump Tower. Trump Jr. has for months contended that after being promised he would get dirt on Hillary Clinton, the brief meeting focused almost exclusively on the issue of Russian adoptions, saying there was no discussion with the participants after that session.
Goldstone's lawyer, Bob Gage, declined to comment. The White House also declined to comment for this story.
If you’re wondering why it’s “impending” and not “immediate” like one former poster used to prattle on about, think about the complexity of the Mueller investigation and money laundering in general. But hey, there’s no ties to Russia, Russia, Russia!

400,000 documents, 36 electronic devices in the possession of Team Mueller via 15 search warrants, 2,000 of the documents labeled "hot." Oh boy, they've got some work to do. Manafort, Gates and Jared, Dear Boy, going to be spending some time together. A lot of time together. In confined space, no less. I wonder if Hope Hicks will regret selling her soul to Trump?
Follow the money, money, money, from Russia, Russia, Russia with a PTape, PTape, PTape all the way to impeachment, impeachment, impeachment.
Nothing like a big, fat juicy, nothingburger to start my Friday evening. It might just carry me through the weekend. Who has the Pee Not Norry?
Those brilliant headlines will be disappearing any day now.
Da da da dumb. Da da da dumb. Da da da da. Da da da da. Dumb! Any guesses to the final four? Trumptology Bracketology! Because you know, connecting dots is fun, fun, fun! $30 entry fee.
Manafort and Gates have given depositions in another “related” matter. Back in court on Monday. Oh, oh. 3D, D’ing and BS BS’ing all making sensing!
I’m dreaming of a cell block Christmas, just like Jared’s father used to know. I’m dreaming of a cell block christmas, just like the one Flynn is going to know......
The investigation was ultimately supervised by then-U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein, an Obama appointee who now serves as President Trump’s deputy attorney general, and then-Assistant FBI Director Andrew McCabe, now the deputy FBI director under Trump, Justice Department documents show.
Both men now play a key role in the current investigation into possible, but still unproven collusion between Russia and Donald Trump’s campaign during the 2016 election. McCabe is under congressional and Justice Department inspector general investigation in connection with money his wife’s Virginia state Senate campaign accepted in 2015 from now-Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe at a time when McAuliffe was reportedly under investigation by the FBI.
The connections to the current Russia case are many. The Mikerin probe began in 2009 when Robert Mueller, now the special counsel in charge of the Trump case, was still FBI director. And it ended in late 2015 under the direction of then-FBI Director James Comey, who Trump fired earlier this year.
As NBC reports: “Trump’s legal team and senior White House aides are refusing to say when and how the president first learned that Flynn had lied to the FBI.” After the news broke that Flynn had made a plea deal admitting to these lies, Trump tweeted that he’d fired Flynn because he lied to the FBI, suggesting he knew of this lying at the time, though his attorney has since insisted that this isn’t what he meant. This has raised questions as to why Trump would press his former FBI director to drop the investigation into Flynn (as James B. Comey has testified, and Trump denies) in the apparent knowledge that he’d lied to the FBI, which could constitute obstruction of justice.
So, instead of a Tricky Dick 18 minute gap, we get a Team Trump Treason 18 day gap. Go get 'em Mueller!
