He is most definitely not going to be impeached. The dude's approval ratings are relatively high still at 37% - Obama was in the low 40's. Plus, what part of a republican held house is going to even investigate him?

In order for Trump to implode - americans would have to come to a bitter reality and that's just not gonna happen.

What does comparing approval ratings have to do with impeachment?
The lower it is, the easier it will be for Republicans to distance themselves from him.

Again--it is the lowest ever recorded for someone just 2 months in....
Oh, no arguments there. I was referring to polaris_x comparing Trump's approval rating to Obama when he was in the low 40's. As if to suggest Trump won't be impeached simply because another President also had a low approval rating at one point.

What does comparing approval ratings have to do with impeachment? And I'll tell you what part of a republican held house will investigate - the part that wants to remove themselves & their party from an unstable, racist, bullying, fear-mongering, pussy-grabbing, Russia-colluding, pathological LIAR. That's who.
he is all that but yet he got elected ... people seem to forget that he didn't just become this guy after he won the election ... he was the same guy who won the republican primaries easily and then strolled to an election victory ... nothing's changed with him ... ultimately, the things the guy wants to do is going to align with most republicans ... deregulation, kill the planet, make people hate muslims ...

37% 2 months in is the lowest approval rating since they started keeping track. You're comparing it to other presidents who had years of bad stuff to happen to get that low...

Bush got as low as like 25% and he invaded a country on lies ... nowhere close to being impeached and that was with democrats in the house ...
Kinda pointless to attempt to impeach a guy with only a few months left in office, like he had when it got that low. And democrats were in support of that war too.

This....is a vastly different set of circumstances.

Right. There are multiple avenues for a smoking gun to emerge. If a special prosecutor or independent bipartisan committee is appointed, they're going to find something.

People forget that Trump has offended just about every constituency he needed to defend and support him. Intelligence, law enforcement, military, members of congress, women, media, etcetra ad nauseum. They all want to see him go down now and Trump is completely out of his element. It's just a matter of time.

for what? ... ties to russia? ... c'mon ... they are not gonna want to open up that can of worms ... how many elections has the US tried to influence!?? ... the same country that actually publicly declared it's laundry list of countries it planned to invade? ...

do you really see that as something that is going to impeach this guy?

    Polaris, I agree with you.

This thread, despite its legitimacy, is wishful thinking- just like the PJ tour rumour threads. I feel it's three and a half years until this guy is gone and even then... who knows? It is not a slam dunk poopy pants is ousted.

ya ... i think the biggest thing people are missing is that the Trump is a direct product of made in america ... where people like him get away with all the things he has because the system allows and promotes it ... every sitting president in recent history should be impeached if we applied any kind of ethical standards (war) ... but they haven't and they won't ...

We've impeached Presidents for a lot less, too. Like blowjobs.

"But, but, but... he lied under oath."

Yeah, about a fucking blowjob. Who gives a shit?!

Yeah, about a fucking blowjob. Who gives a shit?!

    Ridiculous for sure and correct.

But if Bush could pull off his nonsense and even get re-elected, it's going to take a lot to boot this bum out of office.

The link to Russia seems to be the best opportunity for you folks. I'd love nothing more than for it gain traction- the guy is a constant reminder of everything that is wrong with humanity.

    He's also.....under an FBI investigation....
for what? ... ties to russia? ... c'mon ... they are not gonna want to open up that can of worms ... how many elections has the US tried to influence!?? ... the same country that actually publicly declared it's laundry list of countries it planned to invade? ...

do you really see that as something that is going to impeach this guy?

If they find out that his campaign colluded with Russia and Trump either knew or was part of it....you don't? Plus, as others mentioned that is just one avenue towards impeachment. Plenty of others.

I think approval ratings play a factor in this. Bush's didn't really tank until a year or two into his second term. Trump's is already in the mid 30's...

This....is a vastly different set of circumstances.
uhhh ... the iraq war was during his first term ... dude got a second term after that ...
And his approval rating during that election was always around 50%. You referenced 25% and he didn't get that low until Summer/Fall of '08.
fair ... they really are two separate points ... and probably most americans didn't know the extent of the lies about iraq until well into his second term ...

    After impeachment, Clinton's job approval was 73%. I don't think there's a relationship.

Some are simply incapable of learning in real time. The Trump supporters face a daily barrage of disturbing information pertaining to the gomer they got behind and still have their fingers crossed for America getting great again.

I get a big kick out of his golfing habit. It's comical considering how much he bashed Obama for golfing and he is now essentially on tour. And I love how his cronies defend him- going as far to say he's nurturing relationships and that he even takes meetings and calls at the club. Sadly... the dumbasses that still defend the guy buy that shit: "Makes sense I reckon."

exactly ... it's the essence of partisanship which is a reason why america is the way it is ... divided ... it's also why he's just not gonna get impeached ...

I don't know about that. The actual number of trump supporters is relatively small, and Republicans can safely distance themselves from him and pence gives them a soft place to rest their head.

But Bush wasn't doing all kinds of impeachable things on a seemingly daily basis like Trump and his inner circle is... Yeah, Bush started a war based on false intelligence, but that isn't comparable to Trump now.
