Looks as if the president is trying to dictate the outcome of a trial this morning. That's not a gross abuse of his powers or anything....nah
And saying, twice, that this guy should get the death penalty won't help this guy's defense in their attempts at getting his case thrown out or anything....nah
If you support this president, there's is something wrong with you.
do you think a president shouldnt have an opinion on events? what about a senator? congressperson? NY state legislator? you think an opinion from a president is grounds for getting this case tossed?
it most certainly is. his defense team could argue he won't get a fair trial, with millions of people following his every move on twitter and on the news. and they'd probably win.
a president, or any government official, should never, ever, comment on a case pending before the courts.
interesting points, were his comments made on his personal twitter or the official POTUS twitter?
his personal. I don't know if he even uses his POTUS twitter. he's got nothing presidential to say. LOL
Not that it matters. It's still a tweet from the President, followed by millions of people. I don't think this is going to result in the guy getting off, but maybe it could be a bargaining chip for taking the death penalty off the table or something. I think it would be awesome for this guy to spend his life in prison instead of being executed because of this. This is a great example of why so many people are horrified by this presidency. He doesn't even possess the professionalism required of the majority of jobs regular citizens hold.

Now we’re in a jam. The president, who was going to make us great again, actually resents the Constitution and the values within it. Wish we had a heads up on this...
good thing he swore an oath to uphold and defend that shit!!

Here’s some of what we know so far. It seems to be enough to make any self-aware president panic.
●• June 16, 2015: Trump announces he’s running for president.
• October 2015 to January 2016: Trump lawyer Michael Cohen tries to make a deal with Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.
• Dec. 10, 2015: Top Trump ally Michael Flynn is seated beside Putin to celebrate the Kremlin propaganda outlet Russia Today.
• March 21, 2016: Trump tells The Post that Carter Page and George Papadopoulos are key members of his foreign policy team.
• April 26, 2016: Kremlin-connected professor Joseph Mifsud tells Papadopoulos that Moscow has “dirt” on Hillary Clinton, including “thousands of emails.”
• April 27, 2016: Despite insisting throughout the campaign that they had never met with Russian officials, Trump and Jeff Sessions greet Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak at an event at the Mayflower Hotel.
• June 9, 2016: Donald Trump Jr., campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner meet with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya and Kremlin insider Rinat Akhmetshin to gain information that would allegedly incriminate Clinton and her dealings with Russia. In an email setting up the meeting, Trump Jr. expresses excitement about receiving Russian intelligence about the Democratic nominee.
• July 7, 2016: Manafort offers to provide briefings to a Kremlin-linked Russian billionaire.
• July 18, 2016: Trump campaign members succeed in pressuring Republicans to remove a platform plank in support of providing arms to help Ukraine resist Russian aggression.
• July 27, 2016: Trump makes a direct appeal to the Kremlin during a news conference. “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”
• Sept. 16, 2016: After admitting that he had been in contact with WikiLeaks — and later revealing that he had contact with a hacker connected to Russia — Trump associate Roger Stone tells Boston Herald Radio that WikiLeaks will soon “drop a payload of new documents on Hillary on a weekly basis” that will damage the Clinton campaign.
• Oct. 7, 2016: The “Access Hollywood” tape is released. About a half-hour later, WikiLeaks begins to publish Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s emails.
• Dec. 1: Kushner meets with Kislyak in an attempt to create a “channel” for sensitive communications between the transition team and the Russian government, according to U.S. officials briefed on intelligence reports.
● Dec. 29, 2016: Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn calls Kislyak to discuss sanctions placed on Russia by President Barack Obama.
• Jan. 11: At his first news conference as president-elect, Trump said, “If Putin likes Donald Trump, guess what, folks? That’s called an asset, not a liability. Now, I don’t know that I’m gonna get along with Vladimir Putin. I hope I do.” He also tweets, “I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIA – NO DEALS, NO LOANS, NO NOTHING!”
• Feb. 13: Flynn resigns after he reportedly lied to Vice President Pence about his contacts with Kislyak.
• May 10: Trump meets in the Oval Office with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Kislyak, bragging that the firing of “nut job” Comey will ease pressure from the investigation. Trump barred U.S. reporters from the meeting and revealed classified information to the Russian officials.
• May 11: In an interview with NBC’s Lester Holt, Trump reveals that he had asked Comey whether he was under investigation for alleged ties to Russia.
• June 7: Comey releases a memo recalling his interactions with Trump, who he said asked for an oath of loyalty from him.
• July 7: Trump meets with Putin at the Group of 20 summit in Germany. A second dinner meeting was undisclosed.
• Oct. 5: Papadopoulos pleads guilty to lying to the FBI as part of a cooperation agreement with Mueller.
• Oct. 30: Mueller’s office indicts Manafort and associate Rick Gates on charges of conspiracy against the United States, being an unregistered foreign agent, money laundering, and seven counts of failing to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts.
I’m starting to think that the answers to our burning questions about Trump’s strange obsession with Russia are revealing themselves in a slow and painful way for the president and all of his men and women. Will the next big reveal in this reality show spectacle come when one of his closest confidants surprises him in the final episode, not with a rose, but with a wire? The ratings would be yuge. Believe me. Yuge.
And I'll add that Joe left out a couple of dots, like Speaker Ryan shushing everyone and killing the mic after the republican congressman exclaimed that Putin pays Trump. And there are other dots that are about to be connected that we haven't heard about yet, many, many other dots. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
A couple of more dots that were left off of Joe's list: Trump inquired 7 times or potentially obstructed justice by asking if he was under investigation, threatening that Mueller better not look into his family's finances, AG Sessions misleading Congress and Jared having to amend his security clearance four times. I still can't believe that there are some who think that there is no "there" there. Well, maybe I can.
Trump’s campaign knew that Carter Page traveled to and met with Russian officials on his July 16th trip to Russia. Carter Page and the Trump campaign are lying? Why? Oh, oh! Now we know why the flurry of 3D, D’ing and the right wing outrage machine ramping up this past week. Untenable. Another dot connected. Connecting dots is brilliant fun in all its brilliancy!
And the House Intelligence Committee wants to interview Trump’s long time body guard about that 2013 Trump trip to Moscow and Trump’s behavior while there. Oh, oh! Oh, oh! Careful how you answer those questions there big boy. Going after it like an organized crime syndicate. Can a PTape be far behind?
Records suggest otherwise. Follow the money, from Russia with love and a PTape, all the way to impeachment. Do you think he might be met on the tarmac at Andrews by Mueller?
We know now as a matter of fact, however, that the June 2016 meeting was held for the explicit purpose of getting a dump-truck’s worth of Russian “dirt” on Clinton — Donald Trump Jr.’s email chain confirms it. And let’s not forget, as The Post has reported, that Trump himself helped dictate an initial statement from Donald Trump Jr. that misleadingly claimed the meeting was “primarily” about Russian adoptions. This was later proven false, which means Trump himself has been directly implicated in an effort to mislead the country about his own top campaign officials’ eagerness to benefit from help from the Russian government. Whatever legal conclusions Mueller ends up reaching, we now know that Trump’s top campaign officials were eager to collude with Russia to help him win the election and that Trump himself helped to cover that up.
“The constant deception and lying from this administration when it comes to Russia makes it abundantly clear that they have something to hide,” says Bergmann. “It also raises real questions about whose interests they are actually representing — theirs? The Russians’? It certainly seems the American people come last in that order.”
It seems Carter Page’s email to top campaign officials regarding his meetings with russian’s close to Putin was much more detailed and substantive than previously disclosed or described. Follow the money, from Russia with love and a PTape, all the way to impeachment. Any guesses as to why the Russia sanctions passed by Congress haven’t been implemented yet?
Donald Trump accused of being behind 2014 effort to foil Jon Bon Jovi's bid for Bills
Complete bullshit claim.
People in buffalo are fanatical. We were 100% aware that jon bon jovi had close ties with mlse and the city of toronto and was schmoozing with roger goodell and bob kraft. Bon jovi was identified as a threat long before donald trump started pretending to have enough money to buy the team. It was heavily reported in buffalo and toronto. Bon jovi was public enemy number one
Also, hardly anybody wanted trump to buy the team, nor trusted him.
And public opinion means jack shit anyways. The nfl wanted the bills to move in a perfect world. Bon jovi/mlse and donald trump werent willing to pay what terry pegula paid.
It's not the first example of Pompeo doing something that has been put under microscope. But there is a common thread running through just about every example: Pompeo doing and saying questionable things involving Russia — and those questionable things tend to lean in a pro-Trump direction.
I found this to be rather interesting.... 1. pelosi who previously called for Trump to be impeached 2. if the investigation were to turn up any sort of "concrete criminal evidence" On what grounds was she previously calling for impeachment? If evidence existed wouldn't she be privy to it?
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Sunday that even if
Democrats were to retake control of the House in the 2018 elections,
pushing for impeachment proceedings of President Donald Trump would not
be one of their legislative priorities.
"It's not someplace that I think we should go," Pelosi, appearing on CNN's "State of the Union,"
The California Democrat left the door open to the possibility, however,
saying that if ongoing investigations into Russian election meddling
were to turn up any sort of concrete criminal evidence, lawmakers might
reconsider the matter. "If that's there, perhaps it will come out in
these investigations" she said.
