No need to wonder. Roberts is all for unfettered access to guns, no access to abortion and funneling as much money to the wealthy as possible

Trump is just an inconvenience but gets those jobs done.

I used to believe that, but now have no confidence that you will be correct. Roberts met with Trump and suggested Kavanaugh would be a great pick for a SCOTUS justice. That is awful, and all I need to know. I now believe Roberts to be part of the cabal.

John Roberts doesn't seem to have a problem with lying, p*ssy-grabbing, hyper-partisan, political justices who seek to expand presidential power (see Kavanaugh for example), so why would he have a problem with someone like Trump?

I thought that was Kennedy, not Roberts. And in defense of Kennedy, he made that comment to Trump after the Gorsuch hearing.  I think it's unlikely that Kennedy knew anything about yet unrevealed accusations from his HS/college days.  Cavanaugh was a clerk for Kennedy.

He has no good options left. He can't claim he didn't break the law, because that's already shown to have happened, so all he can do is deflect to put a focus on selling the 'nobility' of the action so his base goes along with it.
