yesterday was pretty damning for dump. many people watched it on the networks and not the regular cable news outlets. the american people saw first hand the buffoonery of the republican defense strategy.

"was it as bad as it could have been?" is not a defense.
Fox news called it a win for republicans and a disaster for democrats. LOL
Wasn't it though?  Aren't we so desensitized to it that nobody cares?  Did the GOP budge even one bit on protecting Trump and putting party first?

fox news wasn't treating it like a STORY during Tucker Carlson.  they just weren't talking about it.

The people who need to be moved are the ones that get their information from the nightly news,  GMA, Today show,  etc. People who watch fox and MSNBC are not going to be moved.  So imo, what Fox puts on is just choir preaching.

    some perspective...

August 20th, 2019 the President of the United States asserted a tougher position on Democratic Party members who are Jewish than he has on actual American Neo-Nazis.

"Any Jew that votes Democrat is disloyal."

    He's a worthless POS.

    2. Violated his marriage vows by cheating on his wife with Stormy Daniels right around the time of his son's birth. I forget whether before or after.
    3. Thinks sexual assault is ok and brags about it.

I agree.  But I question whether any of these people were moved.  We've been dealing with this for so long, they're probably desensitized.  I feel like the GOP wins until there's a smoking bazooka.

Another building block to the case.

    From Huffpost:
"WASHINGTON (AP) — A second U.S. Embassy staffer in Kyiv overheard a cellphone call between President Donald Trump and his ambassador to the European Union discussing a need for Ukrainian officials to pursue “investigations,” The Associated Press has learned."

Is the Ambassador going to be questioned or is he declining/declined already?

Marie Yovanovitch, former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine will testify tomorrow and I believe the restaurant caller Sondland is scheduled for next week. I don't think he has declined. More details here, names, etc.

Sondland is the one I want to hear from.  That is where the QPC comes from.

The only thing that I think we can all agree is that the media coverage is about 10% of what you would have expected for such an event.

Sondland potentially perjured himself in his initial testimony. He went back in a corrected himself. He is a millionaire. He is not going to allow himself to go down with this sinking ship.

I think that's partly a function of how desensitized we are.  The Mueller Report was so built up and didn't end up amounting to much...I think to a lot of people, this is just more of the same. It's almost like if Trump's team was gonna break laws the best move was to break even more laws and do as much ridiculous shit as possible, thereby assuring that there is no "Watergate" moment of truth.

I think the administration and fox new is banking on americans being too stupid and/or too intellectually lazy that they will not grasp concepts like bribery and extortion. Those crimes can be every bit as illegal as murder or violent crime. Fox and the gop will probably say that bribery and extortion are not in the 10 commandments, therefore are not severe crimes, or even crimes at all.

I think they'll fall back on it actually BEING a quid pro quo, and will further explain that the US has been doing things for free for far too long without getting anything in return, so "damn right we demanded they do us a favour like look into the possible corruption of a former vice president! the US doesn't do business with corrupt countries without an investigation first!". And his base will eat it the fuck up and the GOP senators will fall in line. just like the spineless snakes have done the past 3 years.

his base is less than 40% of the population and shrinking. He has 51 senators. kind of a shitty situation for dems.
