The GOP is watching the administration get away with this, with staffing interim people not vetted by congress, and attacking our institutions. The plan is authoritarianism and the GOP is on board. If Trump wins (what is sure to be a legit election) in 2020, it’s over.
How is this possible? I've been informed time and time again that the 2A would specifically stop this type of thing from happening. Shouldn't there be a bunch of 3%rs storming the White House?
Do the dems have the spine to go for impeachment? Or should i just move on to 3rd party voting for the rest of my life?
Wait....so now you want them to impeach? Wasn't your whole thing for them to move on because it would hurt them politically? Now it's impeach or you're going to help elect Trump again?
Part of me is concerned it would backfire and help him in 2020, and the goal right now is anybody but Don....
but i was told if Dems took the house they would impeach, and now everyone thinks they have the smoking gun in the report (although i'm still not convinced and feel the investigation fell short), so show some fucking spine and move to impeach.... tired of poll tested pussy ass politicians looking at polls every time they need to make a decision, time to put up or shut up. Democrats are pussies, and they won't, and we all know it. Me personally, i want to see the party i tend to vote for show some fight, screw the wonky bullshit, time to get their hands dirty
But again, i'm torn, don't want it to backfire and strengthen this guy somehow
Barr testifies at 10 AM before the Senate - let's see just how much the Repubs don't care about rule of law. Barr will be twisting himself into a pretzel running out the Dems 5 minutes with blather. Dems don't have the gavel.
Barr is supposed to testify before Dem controlled Committee this week,if he doesn't show a subpoena is ready to go and they are ready to jail him if he doesn't comply They are calling for his resignation. I think there is an obvious impeachment argument, esp if he ignores the Dem controlled Committee after being exposed as lying for the President at the expense of the country. The AG is supposed to work for the country, not the President. And this is freaking blatant.
He lied to Christ and Van Hollen when he testified about the report, and they are steaming. I think that the Dems will not take any more bs from Barr.
And they've moved Mueller's date to testify up to next week.
Cummings was quoted as saying - we will use every tool in our toolbox to make them comply. Reporter - even jail? Cummings - did you not hear me? Every tool.
He is quoting someone else - seems like he is criticizing those who criticize Trump in that way.
I think he was reading the texts between the hot n heavy fbi agents. Gotta feed the right wing base and their false narrative about a corrupted investigation.

yes, I knew that, I was wondering if it was from Rex Tillerson or someone new.
Well Rex Tillerson called Trump a fucking moron, not a fucking idiot, lol, so I assume it's someone else.
haha, right. forgot the most important word in that quote. LOL
It's almost hard to believe conversations like this one we're having right here exist, eh?
I was thinking the same thing when I watched Graham say that, into a live mic, on national tv. 3 years ago, that would have seemed unthinkable. it just boggles my mind how far down the US has gone in the Trump era.
on another note, I watched a vidoe as some sand bagging volunteer was all pissed at Trudeau of apparently making volunteers wait to help sand bagging ("so he could get a photo op"), and when the man shouted and accused him of not listening, Trudeau turned around and encouraged the man to speak with him face to face, and he listened, and told him why he was there, and when the man stormed off, JT just said "that was very unfriendly and un-neighbourly". I laughed, thinking about the incredibly stark differences in Canadian/US politics. Thankfully we aren't there yet.
edit: however, with how influential the US is towards Canada in many areas, I can see it happening. And soon.

So can I, and it's already well underway, and it's very, very disturbing and disappointing. Some Canadians need to pull their heads out of their asses and stop being so petty and emotional when it comes to their political concerns ... Right now there are way too many being completely irrational IMO, and they are spreading it around, and for some fucking reason, probably largely because of the Trump effect, it's catching on.

He was quoting from the texts between Peter Strzok and LIsa Page. That particular comment was made by Strzok. He was a career DOJ employee who was working on the email investigation into Hillary Clinton and the implication is that if he thought negatively of Trump then he would have had to be biased in his decisions on Clinton.
The fact is that democrats, republicans (mostly) and independents work in the DOJ and hold opinions about candidates and issues but professionals are capable of putting their private feelings aside when they are doing their job. He had worked for the DOJ for a long time and there had never been any problems with him before. But the fact that he was having an affair with another DOJ lawyer and stupidly texted on his work phone was too salacious to pass up. If the phones of all DOJ workers had been checked, I'm sure that they would find negative comments about both candidates on many phones and some phones not commenting at all.

I watched the entire shit show that was the Strzok hearing live. I think that was the Congressional hearing that REALLY sent the US government careening off a cliff in terms of the behaviour displayed by the Republican Congressmen and women. It was absolutely INSANE. And I am wholeheartedly team Strzok obviously. Frankly, having followed him very closely through all this, I find him basically beyond reproach.

I just saw Ted Cruz during the hearing. he is such a sack of garbage. For all that Trump said about him and his family, to just sit there and be all smug and ask Barr pretty much zero questions, but to use his time as a "fuck you" to democrats and he didn't even ask a damn thing about obstruction. he is such a weasel with no spine or integrity.

Would be one think if there was one fucker like that. But the entire party sits there and knows what has happend - and still goes in to just use their time for PR spin.

what he looks like is irrelevant.
It adds to the smarminess. And yet you compared him to a “sack of garbage.” Which is it? His appearance?

oh please I didn't compare him to a sack of garbage. I made a figurative description of how he conducts himself. or did you think I actually thought he looked like a trash can?

Moron is a bit more derogatory. And they both were used by psychiatry in years past.
Difference would be the spelling.
