season 2 of Dead to Me is now out
Finished this today. It was good. This show reminds me of Santa Clarita Diet with their humor and story telling. Also mild spoiler, Katey Sagal (Peg Bundy) is in season 2.

    Loved Seinfeld’s new special.
You were okay with the mix of old and new bits, huh?

Just kidding. I thought it was great too. Second half was hysterical.
No I hate that he does that but it wasn’t nearly as bad in this as he’s been in recent years. Really, the gay French king joke was the only one that I felt seemed verbatim. Others seemed updated or woven into new bits.

I saw Jerry live in about 2005 (after he “retired” his old act) and he was hilarious. Everything was brand new, even topical about the Iraq War. But then I saw him again in about 2014, and he had brought back old jokes. He actually did the “laundry day is exciting for clothes” bit from the first episode of Seinfeld. I was actually a little embarrassed for him. I think he thinks it’s like a concert...that he should mix “hits” with the new stuff. And he’s dead-wrong about that. Seeing a comedian do a joke you like is nothing like seeing a band play a song you like.

I’ve seen it’s gotten pretty poor reviews. But that’s okay. It was a welcome thing during the pandemic. And at least it wasn’t a chore to get through like the 10th season of Curb. Larry and Jerry’s best days are behind them, but I’ll still always check out what they create. Not that different than Pearl Jam actually. I like 5 songs on Gigaton, and I’ll happily take that 30 years in. Same with Larry and Jerry. I’m not expecting season 7 of Seinfeld-level comedy anymore. But a couple laughs here and there make tuning in worth it.

Started this the other day and love it. Applegate is great in this role with the sarcasm and no holding back attitude. Through 4 episodes already.

I tried watching the Seinfeld special and oh boy...turned it off after ten minutes.  I think I prefer him in conversational mode (ie, Conversations in Cars).

Interesting....I thought it was hilarious.  That was basically the live performance he did in Indy a year or so ago.

Same here.  I loved Seinfeld, the show, but to me his stand up is boring now.   I feel like he wants people to acknowledge how smart he is for coming up with the joke instead of laughing at it.

Has anyone checked out Have a Good Trip?  It's about various artists' experiences with hallucinogens.

Me, I've never tried acid or shrooms, but my husband has many times.  He said a lot of what was said rings true ("don't look in the mirror!").  It was an interesting watch, for sure.

That's in my queue and I'm looking forward to watching it. That will probably be next after I finish binging Dexter (again).

The benefits of E and acid have proven incredibly helpful for people with high anxiety and
PTSD, and also for those nearing the end of their lives.

Plus, it’s a huge blast for some (as evidenced by F Me) =)

Sense 8 was amazing.  I didn’t gave Netflix when it originally aired.  Glad I finally took the time to watch it.  Watched Russian Doll again as well.  Currently doing a re-watch of both Watchmen (hbo) and Babylon Berlin.  Recently finished season three of Killing Eve.  A sadder, darker season, but still filled with twisted laughs.

I just discovered Bill Burr has a series called F is for Family but have yet to watch.  Has anyone seen it?  If it's anything like his stand-up and general conversation, I'm IN.
