How is induction order decided?

Anyone know how they decide the schedule for induction? And do the artists play immediately after they are inducted?

Come on! Even though it's an award show, Noone wants to see journey closing this out. Don't they have a singer from American idol or something?

I also won't apologize for wanting to see PJ get top billing or the closing slot.

I would not be surprised, if PJ gets the closing spot for induction.

FWIW... the new singer isn't being inducted. Maybe they can sit him at a table with Dave A.

I'm not disagreeing, but you guys do realize that the core of Journey were the original members of Santana, right? You can dis them, but know the history. Its not happening, but I wouldn't mind Carlos coming out as a special guest with his buddies and blowing everyone the fuck away.

That being said, I don't see how the only completely living, currently relevant inductee isn't the closer. I think it's that simple. PJ is closing. They've already said they're doing a special tribute to Chris Squire (bassist/creator of Yes), and that's not closing the show. Tupac is dead, Joan Baez would put everyone to sleep, journey doesn't get along with their lead singer, and hasn't been relevant in 20 years and I can't even remember who else is going in. PJ is closing. I guess the only question is do they really close with a cover song that while it has become theirs and is a great collective jam song, does still belong to their inductor and not them. If I'm not a PJ fan, I'd be scratching my head at that choice.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

It's usually by popularity. I have no doubt Pearl Jam will be closing it out. They're the obvious choice. 3 original songs and RITFW collective jam with Uncle Neil and everyone else.

Remember that time that PJ headlined a show that included Beyonce? That was so satisfying......

Please have Neil learn Alive instead of doing RITFW. Please please please don't end with that cover.

I'm happy you asked because I mentioned to my wife yesterday how much of an energy drain there would be if journey goes on after PJ

No chance. PJ closes no matter what. PJ was at one time the biggest band in the world and is still huge and relevant. Journey is none of those things

Journey with Perry would be the top story of the evening. Nothing else comes close when it comes to headlines from the HOF show.

Since Beyonce played GCF before Pearl Jam I have a hard time believing Journey, Perry in-tow or not, will play after them at the HoF.
Confession: Journey were one of my favorites back in middle school....looking forward to seeing them for the first time.

I was a Journey fan in the late 70's!
Even saw them in concert 3 times,
once before Steve Perry joined the band!!

The three songs will be "Jeremy", "Sweet Lew" and "Ole", and then close out with an extended version of "Of the Earth".
