PJfan... what does bafoon's twitter feed look like today? All quiet on the orange front?

Jeff Sessions is an honest man. He did not say anything wrong. He could have stated his response more accurately, but it was clearly not intentional. This whole narrative is a way of saving face for Democrats losing an election that everyone thought they were supposed to win. The Democrats are overplaying their hand. They lost the election, and now they have lost their grip on reality. The real story is all of the illegal leaks of classified and other information. It is a total "witch hunt!"
As someone who works with words, it bothers me that the exclamation mark is inside the quotes. Also, why does he put witch hunt in quotes? doesn't that mean the opposite?

And yes, these tax returns need to get out there. I hope the stones are rolling now.
This is actually proper punctuation for American English. British English would put the exclamation point outside the quote, but in the U.S. we put it inside. I spent way too much time with The Chicago Manual of Style, and Kate Turabian's A Manual for Writers. Agree with your point about "witch hunt" and of course agree that we need to see the tax returns!
Haha, thank you for pointing that out. My native and main working language is German (I am a translator), and there, the exclamation mark would have had to be outside the quotes. Well, unless it is part of the actual quote, which it does not seem to be here. And it isn't a quote either. Oh well.
I always hated that the punctuation is inside the quote, it just doesn't look right to me. But I had very anal retentive professors who used Turabian's book like fundamentalists use the Bible, and we'd get docked points for every little error in grammar, spelling, punctuation, improper citations, etc... I like that there are rules for things, but I hate when there are so many rules that it gets in the way of just trying to communicate! BTW, I didn't intend my post to be a critique or anything. I was just throwing that out there since it gave me flashbacks.

he is done. it's only a matter of time. the only problem is this won't change anything. it's not like the whole trump admin is going to be impeached. pence will be the prez, which means that all non-white non-heteros will be enemy number 1.

Agreed. Trump being impeached will just take the public craziness out of the equation. All the evil characters behind him would still be there. I think Bannon is the one to really be worried about.

  • We should start an immediate investigation into @SenSchumer and his ties to Russia and Putin. A total hypocrite!
i hearby demand a second investigation, after Schumer, of Pelosi for her close ties to Russia, and lying about it.

Use your head... Flynn and Pence had every right to talk to the Russian ambassador. The issue is that Flynn lied to Pence and Sessions was not forthcoming in his hearing. Please. Understand the issue.

Sessions also lied in writing in a written response to a letter from Senator Tavis Smiley asking whether he had had any contacts with Russians. 3 strikes and you're outta here!

Also the FACT that Sessions was one of Trumps most loyal supporters, was talking with Russians while said Russians were running interference in the election, and then also lied about not talking with Russians while getting a pretty kick ass appointment from Trump for his loyalty.
