It's not the same to me.. in other words I don't find it overblown (yet). This is intentional collusion with a foreign government who was conducting a cyber war. It goes beyond unsecured emails.

I think they know they have to fight this one just purely on optics... this would be a massive blow to Trump and the entire republican agenda...

Flynn can be brushed off as a one-off fluke... Flynn AND Sessions would show a clear pattern and couldn't be shrugged off as coincidence

They are all going to rally around Sessions and try to parse it away, just like i'm watching Ted Cruz do right this second
I agree. Trump CANNOT lose another cabinet member so quickly. It will destroy his year and it will hamper the Republicans ability to get their agenda through congress. I think they'll rally around Sessions too. It won't be because they think it is a "nothing burger" (quoting Cruz this morning), rather they will see it as the only way to preserve their legislative priorities.

Agreed, reaction from the other party is the same. I do believe one issue has much more long term ramifications to the people than the other. The question continues to be the same.. whose interests are DJT's priority? Ours or his?

Yup. Those simple bastards are 'all in'.

The racist base has their agenda which is beginning to play out- nothing else matters.

  • Question from someone who wasn't here when it happened:

When Bush and the Republicans stole the election from Gore... what was the back and forth like around here between republicans and democrats?

Did the republicans gloat as they do know? Did they defend the scam citing various stupid excuses like they do with Trump now?

Bush was a tool and has set the world back for many decades. Trump is a bigger tool. When people say, "You're from ___ why do you care?"... people care because rogue presidents of the USA have a really shitty way of f**king up a lot of things for a lot of people- and not just the ones in their own country (see the Middle East and Europe for what I mean by that).

After the speech last night it is clear what kind of Democratic nutcases President Trump is dealing with. I mean those three clowns waving their thumbs down, wtf? It is so nice seeing the visceral hate from the dem libs televised it only amplifies their vile temperament. It was all over their faces how much hate was in their soul because they are being led by someone who does not think or act like them. It was comical to watch and will be for the next eight years.
    From the article below.
Donald Trump has filed paperwork to ensure he is ready to run for President in 2020. Gary Nordlinger, professional in residence for global advocacy at George Washington University said, Mr. Trump’s early paperwork "sends a clear message" that he intends to run again.
"I can’t say its never been done before but I can’t recall a candidate doing it quite so soon," he told The Independent.

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/donald-trump-2020-second-term-president-federal-elections-commission-filing-a7558236.html

visceral hate? laughable. they are allowed to vocalize their disapproval with his policies. you think they should just fall in line and all of a sudden agree and support him because he is the president? he isn't THEIR leader, their constituents are. I have respect for anyone who is vocal about their opinion, no matter how unpopular. I'd be incredibly disappointed if they all stood up like the dogs waiting for their treats that the republicans looked like at every goddamn thing he said.

that shows how cowardly THE RIGHT are.

if you have a new boss that sucks balls, do you just say "yes sir" and grovel? if you do, grow a backbone. I don't. I haven't. I tell them what's what. And I am easily replaceable at my job. But I cannot look myself in the mirror and take shit.

I've said something similar recently, and I think I'm going to put it in my signature, just so any time an american has lost the argument and resorts to the last gasp "aren't you canadian...?" argument, I'll just point down.

I lived in Tampa at the time so we were ground zero. In fact, I had a 'butterfly' ballot and it was a bit confusing for sure.
And I worked for a large bank at the time and there were plenty of Dems and Republicans at work. I can say that everyone was respectful to each other. But this was in 2000 when there was no social media so you could not hide behind an avatar and be a total dick. So it was different.

I think your last point is very important in today's climate. I think the collective outrage is so much higher because people go on social media, or watch the 24 hour news cycle, and the hysteria is EVERYWHERE, and it's difficult to not let that effect you. Like I stated before, I have followed some people on twitter and have had to unfollow because of their outrage at everything and hysteria about nothing. even some of my friends on facebook I've had to unfollow/unfriend. you have to step back and think "would this bother me if this was my candidate doing this?". if the honest answer is no, move on.
