I love Arms Aloft but I have witnessed it sucking the energy out of the room because it's not Corduroy.

Gotcha, so Release followed by Arms Aloft is the problem, not necessarily the song itself. I can understand that, quite a lofty transition.

It s like going release directly into sweet lew.

I agree Arms Aloft was not a good choice following Release... But judging a show by one bad choice even if it is a major one in someone's opinion, is a little harsh..

I personally thought both nights sets were not really exceptional compared to other shows.. Especially if you look at the 2016 sets (Columbia, SC, MSG, Toronto 2, Fenway 2 , Wrigley, etc...or the album shows! ) but then they played Temple to celebrate, which up until that point had only been done 1-2 songs at a time in 20 years, not 4-5 songs each night! Depending on your love of that music that made the Setlist skyrocket to a different category.. Either top of the list for some, or stayed the same... For me it was mind blowing!!

Then you have the whole communal, festival, family of fans that traveled from all over the globe to celebrate and share stories and experiences.. If you took part in that it was different then someone who showed up at 8pm watched a concert and left at midnight. Someone who Spoke to no one other than their ticket buddy and went home.. Two completely different experiences!

PJ20 was not just a SETLIST... It was different... Saying PJ20 sucked do to a song placement in the setlist, is to me not really fully understanding the scope of the experience that was that weekend..

    Pj20 sucked

    Show or doc?

The OP talks about the show...
    Doc...my bad.
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

    Well said.

I agree that PJ20 as an experience was great. I met so many great people and had an awesome time.

To me, the shows were disappointing. Maybe it was all the build-up and hype (and F5ing) but the shows did not live up to expectations. Too many guest appearances, the weird ending to night 1, a little too much TOTD (night 1 was awesome, night 2 was overkill).

Remember the context of pre-2013 setlists. PJ20, Philly 2009, Philly 2005, Boston III, etc... all had insane setlists at the time. In 2013 they started playing 3 hour shows consistently with 35 song setlists with rarities mixed in. What may be a tame setlist now was not in 2011. Night 1 PJ20 was incredible. Loved it.

I think we were all so fucking tired from the weather, the horrid access in and out of the venue, merch lines......Made the PJ sets seem like they were at 2am. I had a blast that weekend, lots of memories. Temple and the museum made it amazing no matter when they played arms aloft
