The ToTD cd boxset contains dvd & bluray. The bluray was advertised as only having the audio but it actually has a bunch of the videos from the dvd in HD. It was pretty cool watching the ToTD songs from pj20. I wasn't there but it would be cool to see the rest of it.vedderfan02 said:It's prolly already been said but......has anyone else noticed the soundboard TOTD songs from pj20 they have been playing on SiriusXM channel? I've never heard them till recently. Wish they'd release the whole show

What's the deal with Arms Aloft? Why does everyone seem to hate it? Was just the PJ20 performance of it bad or do people really hate that song?Star Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250

It's an OK song I guess...it was just a weird spot for them to play it at PJ20. They opened with one of the best versions of Release ever with the entire crowd signing along and then went into Arms Aloft and it was kinda a bummer. Killed the crowd a bit.HesCalledDyer said:What's the deal with Arms Aloft? Why does everyone seem to hate it? Was just the PJ20 performance of it bad or do people really hate that song?

Yeah PJ20 was awesome but that was the all-time worst setlist move. That spot needed something like Animal or Last Exit. I don't know what they were thinking.Indifference71 said:

I agree that Arms Aloft sucks, but the reason they played it at PJ20 was because Strummer wrote the song about the festival scene in Europe. PJ20 was their attempt at a festival, so there was a connection.Ledbetterman10 said:

They also played it at Bonnaroo this year and talked about how it was written about the festival scene.
I also agree it was a horrible choice to play it 2nd on the set list at PJ20 though.1998 - Cleveland, OH - 8/26

Gotcha, so Release followed by Arms Aloft is the problem, not necessarily the song itself. I can understand that, quite a lofty transition.Star Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250

I was also pretty shocked to hear Arms Aloft directly after a really, really powerful Release. And I love Joe Strummer. Overall, loved that weekend. Rain on Sat was a bummer but still a legendary weekend. I also happen to love The Strokes and would seem them every time they play.9/8/98 (NJ), 9/10/98 (NY), 8/23/00 (NY), 8/24/00 (NY), 8/25/00 (NY), 4/30/03 (NY), 7/8/03 (NY), 7/9/03 (NY), 5/12/06 (NY), 6/1/06 (NJ), 6/3/06 (NJ), 8/5/07 (IL), 6/22/08 (DC), 6/24/08 (NY), 6/25/08 (NY), 7/1/08 (NY), 10/4/09 (TX ), 10/30/09 (PA), 5/20/10 (NY), 5/21/10 (NY), 9/3/11 (WI), 9/4/11 (WI), 7/19/13 (IL), 10/18/13 (NY), 10/19/13 (NY), 10/3/14 (MO), 9/23/15 (NY), 9/26/15 (NY), 5/1/16 (NY), 5/2/16 (NY), 8/5/16 (MA), 8/22/16 (IL), 4/7/17 (NY), 6/18/18 (UK), 8/20/18 (IL), 9/2/18 (MA), 9/4/18 (MA), 9/18/21 (NJ), 9/26/21 (CA), 10/1/21 (CA), 10/2/21 (CA), 9/10/22 (NY), 9/11/22 (NY), 9/14/22 (NJ), 9/16/22 (TN), 9/22/22 (CO), 8/31/23 (MN), 9/2/23 (MN), 9/5/23 (IL), 9/7/23 (IL), 5/16/24 (NV), 5/18/24 (NV), 5/28/24 (WA), 5/30/24 (WA), 8/29/24 (IL), 8/31/24 (IL), 9/3/24 (NY), 9/4/24 (NY), 9/7/24 (PA), 9/12/24 (MD), 9/15/24 (MA), 9/17/24 (MA), 4/24/25 (FL), 4/26/25 (FL)0

Haha, yeah I can understand not liking one song's placement in the setlist. But to say the whole weekend sucked because of that? Man, some folks have the bar set wayyyyyy too high.Chasing Footsteps said:But saying that "PJ20 sucked" due to the setlist placement of Arms Aloft is a stretch.
