why do you care if their government isn't part of your society anyway?

There's a lot of waste, but I'm not so sure this is an area of one.

If the above results are true I would say it is not a needed function.

yeah, just pushing it down the agenda to further his own. not exactly "saving the day". more like just delaying the day.
The Don is getting good at playing this game he created. He can either distance himself from any shit that happens or swoop in and take credit because there's no communication happening about the real circumstances and long term impact. Never before has a president patted themselves on the back and shoved their foot in their mouth at the same time on so many occasions. He's not building a wall anymore, he's blowing an economic bubble doomed for explosion.
    It's a hopeless situation...

I think you know why, so how about not trying to start something in response to every post I make on this issue? Is it really going to be something I will have to repeat endlessly?

Quite simply a step in that direction is a good step. It wasn't built overnight, dismantling it will not happen overnight either.

you don't get rid of a police force because there is no crime. you keep them there because the deterrent is probably working.

Giving Trump credit because this was squashed is pretty hilarious. He didn't do this. They faced a storm of criticism from everyone from Congress to citizens getting on the horn and calling their reps. But let's let the media praise the baffoon who's not even in office yet.

to be clear, last nights vote included ONLY the house gop caucus. ryan and other leadership were against. Todays rules votes include the entire house, as a stand alone this wouldn't pass with the gop members against plus dems.

many members of the house appear to be ethically challenged. you can bet they are fully on board with this. or were. not to mention the new freshman members.

I'm not really a fan of anonymous accusations myself. I would have been okay with that change in the rules. A report I heard on NPR this morning stated that members of both parties expressed concern over this in the past. I can understand why.

The timing and process, of course, looked awful. But there really was no choice, from what I understand, for it to be the first order of business. I think I heard something in the story about the ethics rules always being first in the docket.
