On the other hand they probably need to keep earning a living. They don't do big tours, so they tour a little every year. I'm guessing 10 shows plus a few big festivals.

I have a feeling their living is set. They could tour for free and they will still be okay. These guys are involved in all sorts of stuff outside of the band.

yes the band members are rich but they also have a lot of long time employees that need to be paid. even though ed's guitar tech isn't working he is still paid staff. =my guess. we will get some shows this year. how many, who knows.

agree. they are a business with an office, employees and a budget. there needs to be some revenue and the easiest way to generate large revenues are by playing even a few shows. i'd be very surprised if there were none.

3. Think we may get some side project/solo stuff this year. Hopefully they are working on record. Need at least 1 US show -- please not in June!

Or we buy so much merch, they can skip the tour, print a new tee-shirt with the Benaroya album on it and call it a year.
Europe Summer '17 (12 dates), 2-3 summer festivals (Osheaga, Lolla, OSL), mid-November-December West Coast (12 dates). Basically two legs with a few festivals. About 25 shows total. Australia in early 2018.

no the math doesn't work for that. how much do you think they make on merch from their store here? enough to pay salaries of a staff? highly doubtful in my opinion.

If that is the business model, then all bands would be touring every year.

I'm going with 7 shows to keep the money rolling in. The main focus will be writing and recording the new album. Do winners get a prize in this guessing game?
